Wells Fargo fraud protection. NOT a scam, this is legit. I'm now sitting at my local branch to pick up a new card after someone in Guatamala tried to charge over $1000 to my debit card over 4 transactions.

You're full of crap to anyone who is trying to convince people to 'just call the number and you'll see the bank was trying to reach you and help you blah blah blah'. The bank can call you from their local numbers, email you with a message to see them in person, etc. they will not use unknown, unpublished #'s. Every single # on the Wells Fargo website and back of card do not match the 800-704-0855. With social media awareness, this # needs to be red flagged and put out there. Also, the number should be traced and cut off by the FCC.

Just received a call from this number regarding fraudulent activity in my account ending in XXXX, Called Wells Fargo to fact check and said 800 is not an authentic Wells Fargo number. Beware folks.

I to received an automated answering serivce on my voicemail after this number called and i ignored it, stating that i had suspicous activity on my card. I looked up the number on google and saw this forum. After reading half the people say it was legit and the other half saying it was a scam, I had to investigate this myself further so i called the OFFICIAL fraud hotline instead to see if anything shaddy was happening. I also checked my account online and didn't recognize any fraudulent activities that I did not recognize. apparently, it was legit and got the number due to some recent high dollar purchase that flagged their system, but for those all worried about calling this number back. Call the OFFICIAL fraud hotline on your card number or the Wells Fargo website. Always be vigilant and smart about who you are talking too and who you are giving your information too.

This scam is still alive. The caller left a message on my answering machine for someone whose name I do not recognize. It mentioned the last 4 digits of a card number that does not match my card number. Beware !!! 800-704-0855 is not a valid Wells Fargo fraud department number. Anyone who says otherwise on this forum is part of the fraud.

Did not answer, the msg sounds very real, said it was Wells Fargo and to enter the phone number associated with account. didn't work. then was asked for card number, that was suspicious. Went to Wells Fargo banker he look up all Wells Fargo numbers and said it was NOT a Wells Fargo number. Good thing I did fall to that SCAM!

This is a fraudulent number, i called Wells Fargo so anyone saying it isn't..is lying!

I recieved a voicemail to call this number about possible fraud activity on my debit card. I checked my account and everything looked ok but I called the number on the back of my card, directly to Wells Fargo and sure enough there was an attempt to use my card for over $150 charge. I traveled out of state last week and used my debit card to purchase a train ticket and at a restaurant and that was it. Not sure if it's connected. If you get a call from this number call your bank directly and double check.

legit, scam, liars, helpers.  Just call the number on the back of your card, best advice!  For me it appears to be real, as wells fargo identified an unauthorized use of my card.

Love all these posts, called the number listed on the back of my card and YES people, it is Wells Fargo Fraud Dept.  when in doubt call the number on the back of the card.

You are an idiot, it is absolutely Wells Fargo Fraud Dept. I got the call from them, called back the main line and indeed my card had been stolen...

This is def not a Wells Fargo #. I called the fraud department at Wells Fargo and they stated that indeed that number is NOT coming from a Wells Fargo rep! It's scary that the recorded message it left even told me my name and asked me to verify if it was indeed me! Report this junk to WF fraud dept!

I received a call this morning from this number and was skeptical so I called Wells Fargo using the phone number from their website. Indeed someone was trying to use my debit card number in Tokyo for $550. This is definitely a legit number from Wells Fargo fraud department. Disregard at you own peril.

LEGIT. It's Wells Fargo fraud prevention just confirming that some transactions were made by you. They don't collect any personal info. Call them back because your ATM or credit card could be cancelled as potentially compromised.

They hire idiots like you to try to fool ppl but guess what [***] it didn't work!!!  Get a real Life and leave everyone else's alone!!!!!!  Scum of the earth dirtbag!
