I just noticed the same thing on my account.  Ck# 17718: 29.86.  I don't have ANY idea as to how these people got my bank information.  I can say that I have used an online payday loan but that was years ago and not with this account.  I called the number and went to that website they have a form that I could fill out but I don't want to give them any information.  I am calling them tomorrow.  But, I think I am going to change my bank acct number.  I hope that works.  Good Luck to everyone!!!

They just took the same amount, same date as yours out of my checking account by submitting an electronic check with a check number that doesn't even exist in my account.

Re: Check withdrawals from clickwit or any other company. Do not call them to refund the money it won't happen. Call your bank, report it as fraud and the bank will remove the withdrawal and overdraft charges if any from your account. Close your account and open another one. With most banks, this can all be done with one phone call.

I've never had these people call me, but I did receive bogus phone calls a week ago that I'm sure are related to this SCAM.  Man last week claimed I owed $300 on a payday loan from January that I never applied for, and which never existed.  When I asked him to mail me proof of this (so I could dispute it) he refused.  His caller ID came up as "911" on my cell phone.  He's managed to get my cell phone number, my work number, and also my sister's cell phone number.  This week I had a check post to my bank account for $29.86 from "clickwit"???  I could not get through to the "customer service" number listed on the check, so I called my bank.  The bank was already familiar with these types of checks, and said they are usually related to a payday loan company that charges you simply to visit their website.  Note I've NEVER TAKEN A PAYDAY LOAN!!!  I've disputed the check and already been reimbursed.  The bank suggested I close my account and open a new one, because these people will CONTINUE TO CHARGE YOUR ACCOUNT so long as they have your information.

I've also reported this to the FTC.... I suggest everyone do the same... they are aware of these shady business practices already!

Contact # 800-895-6619, this is direct to "Clickwit". I spoke with Barry at ext. 301, who cancelled
the charge of $29.86. It is supposed to reverse the charge on my account in 1-5 days.
Just be insistent, in a firm but polite manner, that you are sure that you never signed up or agreed to
this "payment protection" service. He gave me an order cancellation number.
If this charge is not reversed, then I will follow-up with my bank, etc.

I was debited $29.86 on Friday 10/22, then another $29.86 on Monday 10/25.  I called the 800# and initially pressed 1 (as directed from the recording) the phone rang and rang until I got a generic "no one is available please leave a message"... I hung up and called the number back.  This time I stayed on the line without pressing anything.  An operator answered, I told her I was inquiring about these debits... she stated "oh that's a different company" and transfered me... this time someone answered.  Initially all he asked for was simply my name... then told me that a rep from my bank was just calling about these charges.  He assured me that they would both be reversed and my accounts were cancelled.  He stated 3 to 5 business days.  I got both charges refunded today.  If you google this 800# it is a customer service # for multiple payday services.  None of which I have ever used.  My bank did advise me that if I closed my account and reopened, that these type of charges can follow me as they also can link via my SSN.  My bank will fight these with me so I'm not going to change my account info.... unless this gets out of hand, then I will have to change banks entirely, based on the info my bank gave me.

I know that my cousin did try to get a payday loan and she used the joint acct that we have together. I just happen to check the acct cuz I was goin to get a couple of dollars out of it and notice that a check was written out to Clickwit.  So, I asked my cousin about it and she had no idea. I will get to the bottom of this... It's crazy!

OMG The same exact thing happened to me. I received a notification from my bank that a company attempted to debit $29.86 from my account. The name was CLICKWIT, and this number was listed on the transaction. I do not use the account that they tried to debit it from, so there was no money in it. Good thing my bank didn't charge me a fee! Well, I am closing the account so that this won't happen again!
