- Fed UpSCAMMERS! A machine voice said press 1) to get a new "rate on my account", how vague, eh? or press 2) to be taken off the call list. I pressed one to see what they said, wanting to talk to a human and find out HOW i got on their list since i am on the DNCR.
A woman answered an asked me to verify my name, number and address. I said that since her firm called me, she should be able to verify it for me...she hung up.
They're not just scammers, they're RUDE scammers. I hope the FTC makes their lives miserable.
Have a nice day!- Caller: unknown
- nunyacalled at 1:34 on 8-11. Since I have caller id and the call is from outside my area code, and both my sons live within 3 miles of me, I dont answer and I dont call back. They (nor most anyone else) has anything to say that interests me. I threw my answering machine in the trash 2 years ago when people kept calling for my recently deceased wife of 41 years. I told the last one that I really would like to talk to her too.
They can't scam if you ignore them. - tiredofscancalls replies to LeeI too had this call on 8-11-08 and they had left a message that I could get a lower interest rate on my "current account" by pressing 2. When I received the message I called the number back it stated that the number was disconnected. How do these people do this without getting caught and how do they get a fake number to show up on the caller ID??? This is rediculous and should be prevented to begin with.
- MEDoes not leave a message when I do not answer
- SferrisI received a call from 850-473-1276 today, but screened the call, when I tried calling the # back, of course got a recording that the number was no longer in service, so to keep them from contacting me again, I put a seletive forward on that number to my fax machine. See how they like that.
- Caller: Call Center, FL
- Call type: Telemarketer
- dpscall showed on caller id as "call center". Call back got a not in service message. Does anyone know if - when you call back, does this somehow keep your number in their calling loop?
- Angditto same here , they just called , so when I answered i got dead air , called back it was disconnected.
- BettyCaller said this was Final chance to get lower interest rates....sounded like scam
- Caller: did not specify
- Call type: Unwanted
- kaukauna86Received a call from... Call Center FL # 850-473-1276
did not answer it, because I didn't recognize the number- Caller: Call Center FL
- Tired of being botheredThe phone company told me that unknown name calls can be coming in thru the DSL connection. She said the phone company doesn't filter those calls and there is nothing that can be done about it. Is there any organization that takes this form of harassment seriously?
- jenpensacola fl
- elI do NOT understand how we keep getting these scammers when we are also on the DNC list & have an Unlisted #. Today (8/14/08) at 11:25AM CT, there was the # but, Natch. A hang up. I would really like to know how/where these spam phonies bother us! I am disabled so they are violating my rights to REST!
- Caller: crooks

- StarSomeone called me just now and on the caller ID, it said Pensacola, FL. I called the nubmer back and it said, "The number you have reached has been disconnected or is no longer in service". I thought, "What the heck? They just called me!" I have heard of this before. You can program it to show a different number somehow. It must be a scam.
- Star replies to NHfiredUpBy pressing 1, you may have given them what they wanted. I have heard of this. It may have accessed them to make calls from your number, also running up your bill.
- Star replies to CinIf I were you, I would start watching my phone bill. This might be exactly what they wanted. By pressing 1, you may have given them access to your phone service. Maybe that's why the number that called was disconnected. I know that I would want to disconnect my phone if someone was making long distance calls on it besides me.
- Star replies to LeeDon't press 1 or 2. They may be accessing your phone service at this very minute.
