    I received a call from Annesha, Cambridge and Huxley.  I do owe a payday loan with CashNet from June of 2009.  I did set up payment arrangements, but I'm scared to send any money in fear that this is a scam.  I contacted CashNet and they gave me a number to call to see what company bought my loan.  It's very intimidating to hear you going petitioned and sent to jail for a bad check.  I did some research and they can't payday loans are not considered "bad checks" if they are returned. Any advice would help.

    it also usually takes anywhere from 3 to six months to get a judgement and obtain assests, and hey cant go legal without and assest. also if they say there are going to send to your county and file with court you usually have a 30 day period that you are able to take care before anything criminal goes against you.

    LYNN  A COLLECTOR
    My daughter got a call from this Cambridge Huxley and Associates..they scared the crap out of her, about a PDL. However being a collector myself I seized the opportunity to put my skills to work, when I asked to provide proof or validate the debt, the collector became irate, said why? there was no need
    Well I informed him that without proof, there will be no payment period.... then the collector began to attack me, saying the references didn't have good things to say about me, advised I probably don't have good things to say about them as well, asked this rotweiler to give me their methods of payment, CC or check only I was told, informed him we have neither// if we decided to do anything provide an address and we will post send a money order . at that point he became frustrated with me and he hung up on me, you think he knew
    I was collector???? that was fun... I too worked for collection company just like this that hid behind an Atty name.. until MSNBC showed up. We violated FDCPA on every call// listen up***** here's what you do**** advised them that with their permission you will be recording this conversation 1st, instantly the tone will change/// ask for a faxed copy of the debt in question, get a name, address of the location and make sure the debt is not out of statute , they may not provide u with any of this/// req a tax ID#, never ever pay with checking acct or credit card ever!!!!! most are convicted felons who require no background checks for employment, anyone can collect, send a letter of C&D and wait for them to call again, and they will slip up.( then sue there pants off) contact the Atty General 2nd call from them.. always ask who was the original creditor and pay them directly they will take your money and call back the acct from this idiots... the purchase the acct in bulk pennies on a dollar
    Real collection agencies will not purchase this kind of paper...... and if you don't have time for ths just never answer the phone... they will sell to another predator agency like .............. ...................there just hoping you give in a pay... you cannot commit fraud on acct that open and active

    I am owing creditors, however, I am paying through a Debt Consolidator.  I recieve a voice-mail on my job phone today recorded 7:50 p.m on 11/18/10. The call was muffled (seemed planned) and this call came from Cambridge Huxley & Associates from Tel#: 866-241-9765.  I was paying my bill every two weeks the company would take payment from my account but guess what, they change their name and was taking out twice under the original name and a new name - I had to stop. I owe them and want to pay but will not allow them to take money from my account.  I had to change account etc.

    I received a call on 12/23/2010 from Jessica Wade who said she was calling from Cambridge Huxley & associates.  She claims I have an outstanding payday loan from October 2008 and she wants the payment by close of business or she would proceed with legal action.  I told her good luck getting anything 2 days before Christmas.  I told her that I have a letter stating that I paid this on July 1, 2010.  She claims that she was calling for a different amount.  Told her I only had one payday loan in October 2008 and the letter clearly states that it was paid in full on July 1, 2010 and no further action would be taken.  I faxed the letter to her.  She called back claiming that this was not the same account; that her "boss" said I owe a different amount.  I got a copy of my bank statement from October 2008 and faxed it to her showing only one loan was made to my account in October 2008.  She claims she will have her "boss" investigate.  I don't know what else to send her.  I have proof that this debt was paid in full.

    Yup, I got the phone call.  Yup, I borrowed the money.  Yup, I failed to pay it back.  But you know what, deal with it.  If you "collectors" just assume that all people that owe money are losers, then you can kiss my "loser" ass.  You get the response you get from people by treating them a certain way.  Why should I pay my debt in good faith when it stays on my credit report after the fact?  Quit defending collection agencies, you aren't doing the business that you are doing because it's right, you're doing it because it pays.  Stop the ignorance people, to hell with these agencies.  All bark, no bite!!!!!  By the way, how does it feel to have an anonymous prick tell you off and list themselves as anonymous?  Funny, ain't it?

    What did you expect????? Pay your bills and you won't get sued. We make the recommendation to our client that you have no intentions on resolving the matter. We note that we gave you the opportunity to resolve it, and you refused to pay.

    To Whom It May Concern:

    This letter is being sent to you in response to a notice sent to me on September 30, 2002). Be advised that this is not a refusal to pay, but a notice sent pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 (b) that your claim is disputed and validation is requested.

    This is NOT a request for “verification” or proof of my mailing address, but a request for VALIDATION made pursuant to the above named Title and Section. I respectfully request that your offices provide me with competent evidence that I have any legal obligation to pay you.

    Please provide me with the following:

    What the money you say I owe is for;
    Explain and show me how you calculated what you say I owe;
    Provide me with copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say I owe;
    Provide a verification or copy of any judgment if applicable;
    Identify the original creditor;
    Prove the Statute of Limitations has not expired on this account
    Show me that you are licensed to collect in my state
    Provide me with your license numbers and Registered Agent

    At this time I will also inform you that if your offices have reported invalidated information to any of the 3 major Credit Bureau’s (Equifax, Experian or TransUnion) this action might constitute fraud under both Federal and State Laws. Due to this fact, if any negative mark is found on any of my credit reports by your company or the company that you represent I will not hesitate in bringing legal action against you for the following:

    Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act
    Violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
    Defamation of Character
    If your offices are able to provide the proper documentation as requested in the following Declaration, I will require at least 30 days to investigate this information and during such time all collection activity must cease and desist.

    Also during this validation period, if any action is taken which could be considered detrimental to any of my credit reports, I will consult with my legal counsel for suit. This includes any listing any information to a credit reporting repository that could be inaccurate or invalidated or verifying an account as accurate when in fact there is no provided proof that it is.

    If your offices fail to respond to this validation request within 30 days from the date of your receipt, all references to this account must be deleted and completely removed from my credit file and a copy of such deletion request shall be sent to me immediately.

    I would also like to request, in writing, that no telephone contact be made by your offices to my home or to my place of employment. If your offices attempt telephone communication with me, including but not limited to computer generated calls and calls or correspondence sent to or with any third parties, it will be considered harassment and I will have no choice but to file suit. All future communications with me MUST be done in writing and sent to the address noted in this letter by USPS.

    It would be advisable that you assure that your records are in order before I am forced to take legal action. This is an attempt to correct your records, any information obtained shall be used for that purpose.

    Best Regards,

    Your Name
