This is not a collection agency.   They steal or buy information on person's debts and try to sell products or scam information about your Capital One, Discover, and Citi-card....... yes all three from the same #.  Do not give them your account information.   I was given a company phone and the first day i received it they called five times asking for some random woman,  (funny cause no women technicians have ever had this phone)  then tried to ask me for my information and account number (i hadn't even said anything about me being any type pf card holder...   Anyway... i hung up, they continued for the next three days..... i was downtown one day and the phone rang, i saw a fed agent (DC area), explained the situation so he agreed to call them back.   Needless to say after the words Federal Government were said, the calls stopped.  i tried to call them several times (curiosity) and hey didnt answer..... so... fake agency.   and LOUIE down at the bottom.....do you think people would be asking if knew they had a debt to cap one... go sit in a corner and think about what you've said....child

Ok dumb answer...... obivously people have debts and need to pay them...we are obviously talking about a company that calls people regardless of debt and continues to call after being told not to and the person does not have an account with that company....... read some [***] before you just throw some stupid crap out

This is Saturday, I have received 3 call from this number today, I was not able to answer them in time before they they hung up-4 rings. I answered this eve as I am on the do not not call list and just found a script on-line of questions to get info to get these kind of calls stopped. On the 3rd ring ring I answered the phone and heard a click, thought they hung up but it seems I was put on hold. There was some nice music and all I was doing was eating ice cream so I listened to the music (I have a over the head headphone)till I finished the ice cream (took a few minutes) then I hung up.

My son is getting phone calls from 1-888-748-4956 pretending they are a debt collection agency from Capital One.
His account with Capital One is in perfect status.
He called them and they acknowledged it, indicating they never sent anything to any debt collection agency.
This is obviously a scam or an error this company refuses to acknowledge.
Would therefore appreciate if you could have them cease and desist.

Well, Gee whiz - Today is Wed.  later on Monday I received one of my
daily "phone checks" from the subject number.  I answereed the call and a
polite lade asked if I was Kyle Richardson.  I replied no and that he had
the 8 months ago and that the number is my private number. I recognized the name of Kyle as I had received many calls for him, somebody else in the family ( I don't recall who and also had recived two calls from
who sounded like a teenaged girl asking for I would assume is Kyle's daughter. Yesterday I received a call again from a different polite lady
asking for Kyle Richardson and I explained this was not his number for the last 8 months.  No callsd have been received yet today from that number.  All I can say is that it took a while, a little politness on my
part and so far everyone except for the people who are owed money by Mr. Richardson are happy.  I want to say that at no time during all the calls
that I have received for that family has any caller been impolite me. Nor have I been impolite to them.  Maybe if we just stay "cool" for a bit, maybe good things will happen.

I receive calls from 1-888-748-4956 at least 5 times a day, Sunday included.  They are looking for Lisa Sands.  I have tried everything from telling them I don't know Lisa to saying I am Lisa Sands, nothing works.  Of course they always apoligize and say I will be removed from their list using a time of 24 hours to 7 to 10 days.  I have tried asking for their home number so I could call them 5 times a day and they told me that are not in the United States.

They are driving me crazy.  It does make me feel better that I am not alone in the receiving of these call but I just want them to STOP.

You are correct in saying that everyone has a situation. My husband was furloughed from the railroad making very good money. Now he is working making less than half. We are behind on the house and the car and just trying to keep utilities on and feed the family. I have the Capital One account and they are calling my sister in law. 28 times this past Sunday. She tried to tell them I don't live there and they accused her of lying about it all. I contacted the CC company and they did verify Allied is a collection agency for them. I requested from both that they not call her. We will see what happens. I will be super happy to repay my debt when things improve around here. Till then...my kids come before a $300 balance on a credit card.

I have gotten calls from this number 4 or 5 times every day including Sundays. This has been going on for several weeks now. I have never answered these calls because I didn't recognize the number.I have an answering machine, so I just figured if it were important, they would leave a message, but they never do.I finally decided to look the number up on the internet and I am glad I did.Hopefully, they'll give up calling sooner or later. In the meantime, it's very irritating to stop what I am doing to go to the phone and see that the call is from that same number.

Exactly!  Don't assume a person has the right to be harrassed whether they owe the bill or not.  You do not know the situation sounless you know the situation you should not comment!

From what I understand, this company is a debt collection agency that goes by the name of Allied Interstate.  Their main office is located at 3000 Corporate Exchange Dr., Columbus, OH. It seems like they have call centers all over the world.  This particular number is for a call center in the Philippines.   Like, the other posters, I get calls all the time from these guys for a person I've never heard of.  This is even after asking, and being promised, to be taken off their call list.  Eventually, I got fed up and started to call them back and asking questions.

I found out they have 11 teams of about 16 people working around the clock. Each team has a team leader.  I guy by the name of Arvind is the VP of the office.  I asked to speak to Arvind directly, but apparently he wasn't there. After several calls, I eventually got to speak to one of the team leaders who goes by the name of Wendall (employee ID# HP193).  He says that Allied gets collection accounts from clients (such as Capital One) and hires someone to skip trace numbers to track down debtors. They take these numbers and someone in the IT department feeds them into an automated calling machine that dials the numbers periodically throughout the day.

When I asked him why I kept receiving calls, he gave me their standard response (it takes 24 to 48 hours to update the system).  When I  told him that 48 hours had passed and yet I continued to receive calls, he told me that he would personally look into it.  I expressed my skepticism since the 5 other people I asked prior to him were unable to manage such a simple task.  I wanted a way to escalate the issue in case Wendall was unable to fix things. So I asked him for contact information for the IT department.  He refused.  So I asked him for the contact information at someone in the Ohio office. Again, more evasion and deflection. He eventually gave me a number, but not the name of anyone I could contact.  Then I asked him for Allied's contact person at Capital One so I could go directly to the source and report Allied's harassment, but all he would provide is the general toll-free number.

That was earlier tonight. All I can do is wait and hope now.

In any event, I encourage all of you to get Wendell, Arvind, or some other supervisor to look into the problem.  Maybe if enough of us call and complain to them directly, they'll actually fix things.

I have received harassing phone calls from this number for 3 weeks. TODAY, Sunday, June 14th, I received 5 calls. I have asked to be removed from their list and they continue to call my home.
I wish to report this harassment to Capital One and I will gladly close my accounts this week if this does not stop.
