Linda's prior post: Thank you Mike for your truthful words and deconstructing, delegitimatizing these falsehood by these phonies! -- "phonies" definition -- "n pl -neys, -nies 1. an insincere or pretentious person 2. something that is not genuine; a fake" ...source: TheFreeDictionary
Using sophisticated words without proper punctuation in the sentence only detracts from the statement and the education you imply.
This post by you: Hello, my husband and I have completed their services as scheduled and I am pleased with all their help especially Jackie at the negotiations department, shes such a sweetheart!!!!!! But you're opinion is only a opinion dear, it's irrelevant.
-- at least you are using your own words, this time. You could have easily said this in the first post, rather than being pretentious, --"you're opinion is only a opinion dear, it's irrelevant." -- curious of you to use a term of affection, then tell someone they don't count. It says you also do this with people you do supposedly care about. You may want to keep an eye on that ... or, not, if you don't mind telling your loved ones they really mean nothing to you.
I don't have "a horse in this race," either way. Just found your comments interesting.
I just wrote in a message to CBC Canada, that I wouldn't put it past them to hire people who eventually realize what is going on and quit. Thank you for the apology. You did the right thing! Now, just move on. I hope you find a job quickly and that you enjoy it. And being a good Catholic you will be rewarded for your honesty and caring. Wishing you all the best. Susan
Hey Mike. I know you are who you say you are. I have e-mails and phone conversations with you.
This may be how you sign with C&A but I STARTED with Silverthorne & Lupolover. I had to switch or I would lose all my funds if I didn't authorize C&A to work on my be half. No phone recordings, just documents giving authority to negotiate on our behalf. 14mnths, Refused to neg. with lawyers (I have it all in writing) not one debt settled. I had 7 creditors. I owed $10,000.00 on one, it ballooned to $15,000 C&A wanted to settle it for $11,000 with monthly payments. Many more like it. I'm glad they were on the ball.
I found this from the Canadian Law Society: As the regulator of the legal professions in Ontario, we receive and respond to written complaints about lawyers and paralegals licensed by the Law Society. The Law Society deals with a range of professional conduct matters. For example, we can deal with issues relating to a lawyer or paralegal’s failure to reply to communications; failure to report on a transaction; delay; misleading, rude and discriminatory behaviour and failure to account for or improper handling of money.
Sorry Mike. When it takes 2mths to tell me where my money is, And I still don't know, it's time to dismiss.

I am not afraid of my real name as my parents gave me years ago, My complaint is simple a Company takes your money provides no service and won't even tell you what is happening with YOUR Money not theirs is called fraud. They are no better than the vermin who try to defraud seniors all the time. Cockburn and associates I have no fear one day you will be judged by a power greater than I and I want you to remember the 5000 you stole from me.
How much did 4Pillars charge you to introduce you to a trustee in bankruptcy at deloitte who filed your consumer proposal? You could have met the trustee for free - cut out the middleman. Only LICENSED and regulated trustees in bankruptcy are qualified to file consumer proposals. Anyone can negotiate a reduction in debts that are statute barred under the Limitations Act you don't need to pay a lawyer for that service. Caveat emptor - check out the fcac website and if you have debt issues don't waste time looking for quick fixes - talk to an expert meet with a trustee in bankruptcy.
I would advise you to contact a reputable company before you sink any more of your hard earned money into this "SCAM" company. I had a bad feeling about them after they took my first payment and then my creditors called and threatened to take me to court. So I contacted 4Pillars the next day, signed papers to do a proposal, at least I didn't have to go bankrupt. I Closed my bank account so Cockburn LLP couldn't take another cent out of my account. Within 1 day ALL my creditors had been contacted and I never got another collection call. Within a month I had my first meeting with the lawyers and my proposal was signed as a done deal. Repayment terms were set and I didn't have to worry anymore about law suits or garnishees. Today I am finished paying my proposal and I am well on my way to reestablishing my credit once more. Get away from these scam artists......you are only getting in deeper!!!!!
First I went to my bank and put a stop payment on the payments coming out by C & A. Then they had to deal with me. I demanded a Letter of Cancellation! They PDF'd to me. I scanned and sent back to them. Then I went to 4Pillars! I gave them a copy of the Letter of Cancellation and they dealt with C & A. Though many different people kept phoning me and telling me I'd be sorry for cancelling I finally told them, "If I get another phone call from your company I will file a Harrassment Charge against your company." Then Sheila Cockburn called me and I said, "If you're calling me to graciously return the One payment you took from my bank fraudulently, then I will talk to you, if not, don't ever call me again." Never got another call. All I can tell you is Cockburn and Associates will allow you to be charge under the criminal code for defaulting on your creditors. 4Pillars contacted my creditors and within 24 hours none of my Creditors could charge me with defaulting!!!! Find a "REPUTABLE" Debt Settlement Company in your area. But don't ever use Silverthorn or Cockburn & Associates.......you will only find yourself in worse trouble than you started out in. I for one and thrilled the my life is on solid ground and my Debt is under control and I am on my way to re-establishing my credit.
I have made 2 payments to Cockburn and Associate and received a phone call today from OCCA. I don't remember contacting OCCA but when I talked to the woman she told me Cockburn and Associate is a scam. She told me to check it out on the internet. Cockburn and Associate have a street address in Toronto but she said it is a P.O. box & they are a US company. I am usually pretty wary of scams but did not suspect this. My next payment is due Jan. 5th. I will stop payment before this. I live in the country 35km from town and we have just had a big snowfall so not today. How do I know OCCA is legitimate? Is it a "good guy/bad guy" sort of thing? I am 77 and on a pension and barely making it. This has really hit me hard.
I signed up with Cockburn and Associate October, 2013. I was confident that all was well. Yesterday, I got a phone call from OCCA. They said I contacted them in October which I am sure I did not. I said I was not interested as I had signed with Cockburn and Associate. She proceeded to tell me they are a scam. They are an American company. She told me to phone the number that they told me to give the credit card companies. It does not work. I checked by looking it up. It is a cell phone with owner unlisted. It just constantly rings busy. I tried the other contact numbers they gave me. Same thing. I have had several reps. contacting me at first by phone and in the past 6 weeks by e-mail. I have made 2 payments to them of $467. I contacted my financial institution and they have frozen my bank account and I have an appointment to see a financial advisor and they will give me a new account and #. I will do as much investigation as I can to see if they really are a scam but they are not getting any more money. By the way, when I checked out OCCA they are questionable too? It may be the pot calling the kettle black.

Michael Lupolover of Englewood Cliffs NJ and his related companies recently raided by FTC. STAY AWAY
be very sure to have a shedule of their charges before you agree to have them represent you. I believe their charges are excessive and unresonable. I paid them $11,304.13 and they charged me $5379.30. I still had to mortagage my house to forstall my creditors. Suggest everyone get ALL the info before you agree. I never received a fee schedule until AFTER my file was closed. I would suggest you work with your creditors before you deal with anyone who suggests they can help--I wish I had. At one point my creditors froze all my accounts and I had to borrow money from friends to by groceries. Be warned. An unhappy Canadian
