- SteveJust received a call from this number on my cell. I did not answer it and their voice mail was empty.
- Steve replies to pull your head outThat number is for inbound collect calls from outside of the U.S. Look at the back of your card.

- Spam Me NotI just received the "this is Bank of America" call to report about suspicious activity on my account. t was an auto message which gave my name and said if you are -----------, press , if not, press 2. then it asked for my zip and last four of social to "verify identity". I hung up and called BOA customer service. I explained what happened and Rep said that when BOA calls about account, it may start as an auto message, but a Rep will immediately get o the line, and she emphatically said that BOA does NOT ask to verify identity in that manner. She aslo suggested to go to BOA online and set up alerts so u can receive texts or emails when acct is being used. By the way I called the 315 # and an auto message came on saying it was an overseas call and yes, they would accept the collect charges. I hung up. Did some online research and checking today and found the number was from Utica NY, well, well! So it IS a SCAM.
On another note, I've received texts at 3-5am saying they'll buy my "junk car". I am not selling my car nor did I ever post anything anywhere about my car! Tip: fwd the message to SPAM...dial "2276" on your phone. SPAM will send you an acknowlegement and then ask you to submit the "from" phone #, so they can investigate. I've actually called the numbers back - heck, they woke me up! Always, the number to call to sell car is a local cell number (and when I call them, they say it's the wrong # or they hang up). Then I call the "from number", which results in "the mail box is full" or "cannot accept messages at this time". When I do a white pages search, the "from" number is from out of town (usually from NY - Utica in fact....hmmm, sometimes California or Utah) and it belongs to Tmobile or some other carrier different from the one to call if I want to sell car. I tried to contact Tmobile, but didn't get anywhere - no surprise!- Caller: BOA

- BOA customerYes, 315-724-4022 is the phone number listed on the back of the debit card, BOA will document on the account any attempts and the reason for contacting its customers. If they do not leave a message on the voicemail detailing the reasoning for the call as well as which department to contact, it is NOT a valid call. I confirmed with a BOA representative that it was a Phishing scam and not a legitimate call from BOA. That does not mean to assume all calls from this number are scams; each case is different. It was a scam in my case. Do not call the number back, call the 1-800 customer service number to confirm.
- sct| 1 replyIt is not a scam. I did not answer but called BoA immediately and they confirmed that they had called because they had issued me a new debit card because of a security breach on my old card. If you have a BoA debit card, look on the back and you will clearly see that number. 315-724-4022
- Caller: BoA
- Anonymous replies to sctJust called BoA and they confirmed, after some searching, that this was a legitimate call. My card number has been compromised, possibly a merchant I had dealt with l, and they have issued anew card. This is a legitimate call from BoA. Call the 800 number on the back of your card and tell them the number that called you. It may take a few minutes, but this is real.
- Internet MAN!This is from Bank Of America. They were informing me that my debit card has been compromised. They told me to active my new one ASAP. This call is legit as I receveid a new debit card from them earlier in the week.
- Caller: Bank of America
- EricaCall from this number asking me to call 1-877-248-6276 with unusual activity to my debit account. Requested my zip code or last 4 of my social. I hung up when prompted for my personal info and called my bank to verify. It was a phishing scam.
- Caller: Claimed to be BofA

- JaneLook at the back of your BOA debit card. On mine, this is the number to call if you are outside the US. The robocall said it was thanking me for letting me know I was traveling outside the country. They gave a number to call back if this is not true, but I didn't call that number (I'm no fool) I called 800-432-1000, which is Bank of America's contact number from their website. Don't take my word for it, look it up yourself.
In my case, this was a mistaken call because I don't use my home phone, I use my cell. I called BOA, as I said, and got through to their fraud department. What we believe happened is that at one point someone else had my phone number and the call was supposed to be for them. For those of you saying you don't have a BOA account, perhaps that is the issue.
Again, do NOT give out any personal info, be careful, call the number on the website, etc. That makes sense (scammers DO spoof numbers after all, even legit ones) But I was honestly just told that is a legit number, the BOA rep told me it is one of the numbers they use for automatic messaging. And it IS on the back of my card. Just be safe and call BOA yourself.- Caller: Bank of America
- Jane| 1 replyHi again - I posted a few minutes ago about my experience with this phone number. I was curious why some folks think scam and others think legit. I found this article, that says what I said, but rather more clearly:

- Hatemesometelemarketers replies to Janeto answer your question - those that think it is legit are working for the scammers.
- RB won't be connedDidn't answer, but listened to message. I ignored their message and called BofA number on back of card. Reported what they said about fraud activity. They said no fraud activity on my account. Transferred me to fraud department who advised this was not one of their numbers and they will investigate it. If anybody calls you from a bank or credit card company, listen to their story, take notes, decline to give them ANY information, and then immediately call the number on the back of your debit or credit card to report them.
- AmandaJust got a call from this number. Didn't share info. Called the number on the back of my BofA card. They didn't reach out to me.
Don't be dumb, people, don't make it easier for the crooks & thieves. When in doubt, call the bank.
Spoofing numbers on caller ID is relatively easy to do. Make the outgoing call yourself to a number that YOU verified.- Caller: Fake BofA - SCAMMER

Look, I googled this number as I don't pick up unknown phone calls. I called Bank of America. There was, indeed, a hold placed on my card, and they're sending me a new card soon. If you think it's a scam, believe what you want. If you don't actually have a Bank of America account, then I assume they simply have the wrong phone number on file for the person whose card has been compromised.
But the solutions is mind-numbingly simple. Just call the number on the back of Bank of America debit card to verify. I did, and it's real. I tried my debit card and, indeed, it is frozen.
I mean, yeah, be skeptical, but come on now. - Mimi80Step 1 - open your wallet
Step 2 - take out your BofA debit card
Step 3 - flip it over where you should have signed or written "see I.d. "
Step 4 - put your glasses on and see that this number is on the back of your card.
Concluding this is a legit BofA number. It's their fraud dept. Call back the number you know if you feel more comfortable but it's a real number of theirs. I'd recommend never to give out your personal info if you didn't call.- Caller: Bank of America
