The robo voice has called twice saying it's "EOS CCA, A debt collection service."

i get calls twice week from them .  Never answer and even on reject list goes voice mail.   I need add to do not call list so they can be funded each call which is logged automatically and all voice mails .  They say a debt collection Eos Cca . A debt collection please call that number.    If need messages let me know.   After I make sure your legate I will give them to you.

Multiple calls

If I really owed someone money would they not reference the original debt or claim against me.  Called me twice - I never called back, because  "I'M DEBT FREE!!!!!!"    If you did call them they might add charges to your phone bill.

They have called three times from this number between October 27 and November 2. The automated message says that they are "EOSCCA" and that "this is a call from a debt collecter." They say to call back this number. Luckily, I know that this is most likely a scam. I picked up today when the message was playing and said, "Hello?" They said nothing. My mother called them once, and they just put her on hold.

They also called from 800-792-5130. They claimed they were EOSCCA and that it was a debt collector. They said to call 800-792-5130. I am sure it is a scam now.

They call but never anyone on the phone

Got a call from them today saying it was EOSCCA. Looked up EOSCCA and called them directly(not the number they gave on the phone) since I am debt free. They said if a debt was owed, you would be contacted via USPS not phone, and they did not own these phone numbers. SCAM!

No doubt they lied to you.  This is a well known crtiminal debt collector that uses tactics that violate the law to scare people into paying them extortion money,

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Received a robo call from something called EOSCCA today that said they were a debt collection agency and I was required to call them back at 844-681-8992.  Curious, as I do not have any outstanding debt, I called them back and got a woman who would not give me the actual name of the collection agency nor would she give me any information on the supposed debt she was to collect.  No matter how I asked about why she was calling our home, she said she required additional information from me before she could proceed.  I told her that if this was a real debt collection agency, she could mail me the information she claimed to have.  Obviously, this is a scam and I told her so....at which point, she became verbally aggressive and I hung up.

They called today...seems like a scam. I won't be calling them back.

eos/cca  They are a real medical debt collection company with a office on prescott st in worcester mass.  Though they are real, they don't follow the law as stated to number if calls,etc.  They WILL not help you,so you are better off dealing with the hospital,mri place ,or dr.s office about the bill.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

They've called twice and left message regarding a debt I owe. Thanks for your posts!  I knew it was a scam though as I am debt free, but nice to get assurance.

My parents, my brother, my sister and I have all received calls from this number, saying that I am being pursued in a civil suit and to respond by a certain date or action will be taken. When probed for more information, they do not provide anything. Feels very much like a scam.

They call it a "courtesy call."

The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the governments allegations, which have not yet been proven.

On 12/7/2015 the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) filed a complaint against Collecto, Inc. and alleged that the business reported inaccurate information about debts to credit-reporting agencies, and collected and continued to report debts that consumers disputed, even though EOS was unable to verify that the debts were owed.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.
