Maybe Chase needs to verify the number before calling....they are repeatedly calling my husband's new cell phone. He does not now have a Chase loan. Has never had a Chase loan and never will have a Chase loan. In fact we have NO HOME LOAN.

I continue to get several calls a day from 1-800-848-9380.  When I answered the call there is no response, just silence..

Unwanted, unwarranted calls....I have absolutely no connection with them and yet they still call...and rather faithfully it seems, even after being told otherwise. That is so amazing! Well, you can bet if this is how Chase (according to previous posters identifying the source of the calls) handles their business, I surely would never  do any business with them ever anyway....no matter how hard they try, no matter how many times they call.

800-848-9380.  This IS Chase's collection department that auto dials after the first day late(even if you have a grace period of 15 days)...they are calling you two to three times per day to make sure you get your payment in on time.  The message says please hold for an important call...yet, there is never anyone on the other end.  The best thing to do is call Chase yourself and report the "harassment" to the service center.  They were very empathetic, however, I did not receive a resolution.

I have been getting phone calls from this number every day since I got my new cell phone number.  It must have belonged to the person they are pursuing.  Despite my telling them that they have the wrong number, they continue to call.  I threatened to report them to the FTC yesterday yet they called again today.  I called the FTC and filed a complaint.  

I don't know why they think they're going to get this guy by continuing to call my number!

Don't forget to lay some of the blame on the home appraisers who somehow always agreed that the houses being sold were worth the selling price.

My wife and I have never had a Chase account as many suggest is the company who is making the calls.  We have never had a phone call but we had a door knob hanger on our door today with the 800-848-9380 number on it in English & Spanish.  It  has the name CHASE in the middle and suggests we call the number and give them our account number and they are expecting our call today............:)  Whomever this is, is planning to gather all the info they can from unknowing people under the name CHASE hoping to gather enough info to tap a bank account or steal someone's I.D.

FOR ALL WHO READ THIS, PLEASE DON'T ASSUME......CALL YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL OR OTHER STATE CRIME BUREAU AND REPORT THESE PEOPLE.  IF IT DOESN'T SAVE YOU IT COULD CERTAINLY SAVE SOMEONE ELSE.

This is a scam... they only want more info. So, I have had a Chase bank account for many years.
That is how they got my number. But my loan is with another bank.

Just got a new phone number.  Immediately started receiving calls from this number as well as 2 other collectors looking for "Francisco".  The first couple of times we were polite and informed the caller this was a newly issued number and no such person was here.  Most often they simply hang up and the whole circus starts anew the next day.  After 3 days of this crap we started getting more threatening and demanding they remove this number from their automated system.  No luck...same old crap, now we're at 3 calls per day!  Asked to speak to a supervisor and get "cut off" every time...amazing.  So Chase Bank, if you read these....you can Kiss my *ss as I've filed a complaint with the FCC and the Attorney General's Office and have already talked with my attorney about a civil harassment suit....

They call me at my desk 3 times a day looking for a Phillip somebody.  I have told them repeatedly to take me off their list because I am not Phillip and this is my office/work number.  I asked to speak to a supervisor and they refused to direct me to someone in charge.  They tell me they have taken me off their list but they KEEP calling while I am trying to work.

If you can't get a hold of your son-in-law down range, I'd recommend that you call his stateside unit, preferably his first sergeant, and explain the situation and ask them to help.  Make sure they know that your son-in-law hasn't done anything wrong and that you're just trying to help him.

I can't believe the ignorance of this Gerry.  You have obviously never lost a job, never lost all of your retirement because of the fraudulent banks, and you have never had Chase "Lose" your paperwork. Maybe you don't live in a house where the value has gone down so much and your equity is all lost.  Yes...I will do some bitching about Chase, perhaps even sue them soon.  They "lost" our modified mortgage paperwork TWICE!!  Now you tell me who the idiots are?? I keep getting calls from this number. I've asked them to stop calling. i do not have a mortgage from Chase. They ask for the social security number etc. None of which I'm willing to give. I spoke with Chase Credit cards (which I do have an acct with and is current) and they said this isn't a legitimate number.
All of this is confusing. I would just like them to stop calling my cell phone. I have set up a no call request in the past.

I keep getting calls from 800-848-9380 asking for someone who doesn't live here.  I've told them this several times and finally found out that it was from chase mortgage collections.  I've talked to several people from chase and even had my number added to the do not call list.  Today I received another call, the machine picked up before I had the chance, they are still calling, and when I did talk to someone before from chase I was told that the number was from the mortgage dept. but no one could put me thru to them??? It seems they must only be an out going call center?? I've never had a mortgage, I've never done business with chase and I don't ever plan on doing business with them.  Question is how to get them to stop calling me?? Any help out there???

The number that shows up on your caller ID is not necessarily the number that the caller is dialing from. It is common these days for scammers to us “sounders” that display someone else’s number.

It's a call center for collections. After receiving several automated calls from 800-848-9380 looking for a name other than mine and claiming to be fraud alert, only to be asked for my last 4 by an answering machine, a real person called named Jessie Porter at 877-836-3040 x 32613. I called and it said Chase collections. Again, who knows. I was asked by another 800 number only days prior to verify my personal information. Of course I told them as politely as I could to F the F#$% off. Actually, I think those were my exact words. I started getting these calls soon after. I don't know if it's real, but if you feel ok giving your personal info to a 800 number and an answering machine, you can call
1-800-dumbass and leave a message.

I received a call today at 5pm as I walked into my home from 800.848.9380 which reflected 800 customer service on my caller ID.  The man on the other side of the phone told me I was past due on my equity line and told me I had to pay now as my amount due would increase by late charges and my account would be referred to a collection agency and my credit rating would be negatively impacted.  He asked for my info and told I him have Chase Bank send me an invoice to my home.  He asked to confirm my address and told him he should have it if in fact he was working on behalf of Chase Bank.  Since my info is published told him I was sure this was the avenue he used to solicit my information and told him I had NO equity line with the bank.  He was persistent in getting me to pay either by phone or online he would provide instead of referring me to Chase's online web site.  Told him directly he was a scam and looking to make his company rich at the expense of people who would be intimidated with his aggressive collection techniques and hung up.  Called Chase Bank customer line included in my statements and the rep confirmed that 800.848.9380 IS NOT Chase Bank.  Talk about a real scam searching for innocent people who would be pressured into submitting payment to a bogus company.

I work for a newspaper. We have a mortgage from Chase. They call repeatedly, without a message from the the "Toll Free" Id. Even if you're not in foreclosure, the State Attorney General of Texas issued the following statement:
