- CRS replies to cheezzz1031THIS IS A SCAM! JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH MY BANK, AFTER GETTING A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER THIS MORNING!
- KThis is NOT a scam. I called the company back and they told me of charges that I did not make. I did not give them any info. They instructed me to call my credit union to have a new card issued. I immediately called my credit union, and at first she was not too sure about this call, then she looked up my account and verified it was Visa who alerted the fraud department. The fraudulent charges this company gave me also showed up on my account at my credit union. Someone in a different state used my card to make a small purchase, then attempted to make a large purchase.
- CTThis was a legitimate call. I didn't call the number back. I called my credit union who was able to transfer me to them, and I gave them the reference number that was left in the message. There were several charges in a few different states that were stopped. No fraudulent charges ever hit my account. They froze my card and are sending me a new one.
- LaurieIt's legit. I called my credit union directly and they connected me to them. It turns out that it was a (debit) card that I used at Target and Michael's around Christmas time and after all the news I opened a new account. The old one had a zero balance. Security told me that they tried 7 different amounts on this card from a Walmart in Richmond Va.

- DBThey're legit. My credit union uses them for fraud purposes.

- LEThis is a legitimate company monitoring your Debit/Credit Cards.
save them in your phone and answer the phone. It can save you headaches later. - CJReceived a call from this number. When I called back I was suspicious because the woman needed my name and account number. I stopped her and said if she was calling me, she should have all that information. Claimed to be working at security company on behalf of our credit union. Told her I was not comfortable giving information out to an unknown person. Even with the case number they apparently had on me, she needed more info. My husband also received a call but they did not leave message. We both went to our bank the next day and were told they do not use outside security agencies when fraud is detected. This is the biggest scam ever!

- Jay replies to jscarCredit card alert company that calls to verify purchases they don't ask for sensitive information and are legit.
- DJ replies to Chili| 1 replyThis number is real and legit. I called them @ 7 am and asked about some charges on my debit card. I hadn't made those charges, almost $300.00. If I'd called back yesterday the charges would not have been approved. Now I have to wait to get my money back. I have no idea how they got my card number....
- A.D.Got a call from them today on Thanksgiving. They left a voice mail. Went to this website to check out the 888 number. I called them back. They wanted to verify an out of town debit card purchase. We verified the amount and the payee as legit as we are visiting our kids for this holiday. 100% legit.
- Fraud Squad replies to CAPRICORN| 8 repliesPart of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions. Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.
The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people. There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

- lucky*WE GOT A PAPER LETTER BY US MAIL FOR THIS SCAM, BUT THIS PHONE NUMBER IN LETTER, SO THANKS FOR POSTING!!*
we got a plain-Jane letter saying our CC had suspicious activity & our credit union couldn't reach us by phone, so they'd locked our account. We checked: no phone calls came in, no transactions at all on the card, so we called the credit union. they looked up this number (888-918-7313) and said they don't use it, nor do they use "Falcon", which was mentioned by another poster here.
they're turning it over to fraud department.- Caller: letternotcall

- anonymousI'm no sure why so many people are having different experiences with this number, but mine was legit.
I received a call from this number and ignored it, listened to the voicemail left (which said they were calling for a routine security check), then I checked my online bank account. There WAS a fraudulent charge. I called my band directly (not the number left on my voicemail) and they connected me with the fraud department.
