- cj| 1 replyPlease listen, always contact your bank, credit union after receiving a call, with that said i am so glad they called me i was hit for $500.00 dollars of charges someone was able to breach my card, i am still in shock, Im in florida, and they are in kansas ....So please do follow up, contact your bank first and they will let you know if its a scam.....i hope this helps someone before it happens again....
- Alan| 2 repliesIt IS a scam. They keep calling my parents again and again, asking for me (I haven't lived there in almost 20 years.) My dad refuses to tell them my real phone number. My credit union does have my phone number on their records, so I know these scammers aren't really calling from my credit union like they say they are.
- kara| 6 repliesI've worked with fraudulent documents and checks before and the letter I received, "Supposedly" from my bank, definitely sends RED FLAGS. First there is no address, just a city and state and they are all capital letters. Second there is no valid signature, just a printed, Cardmember Security. They want me to call and see if there is fraudulent activity with my account..another red flag..because I know the first thing they are gonna ask when I call the number they gave me is my full name and account number..bingo, and if they want they can even ask for my social and more than half the people would give it to them...now they have everything they need to clean out my bank account and for idenity teft...People please be real carfull with the information..it never hurts to ask questions.. call your bank number, it's better safe than sorry..all they need are a few details about you and it could mess up everything

- ChuckI received a call stating there was suspicious activity on my debit card. I got name, emp #, phone # and case #. Then, called my bank and the lady at my bank confirmed all the information given by the gentleman who contacted me. I was suspicious, but after my bank verified the activity I am relieved and glad they are on top of things.

- bETTY smith| 2 repliesThis is legit. Falcon is a debit card monitoring service that credit unions use to prevent fraud. They will ask you to call THEM back (not your CU as they are probably not open 24 hrs a day.) They shouldn't ask you for your PIN or SS# , but if they do, contact your CU during business hours. They call after hours b/c fraud usually takes place at off hours.

- RaeI was suspicious as well. It sounded like fake call, however it was 100% legit. I had make a large charge the previous evening at a liquor store for a friend's birthday party. The charge was made on Saturday, and I received the call Sunday morning. I do not drink, and therefore don't even know if I have ever used my debit card to buy booze. The lady I spoke with was very polite and did not ask too much information. She informed me that many times when cards are stolen, people use them for alcohol and that is what send up a red flag on my account. I verified the alcohol purchase, and that was the end of it. I guess even my bank knows I'm a square. lol.
- VivienneJust called my Credit Union to verify. They say it is a legitimate company they use to stop card fraud.

- JanDefinitely legit. I got a letter from my credit union regarding an annual payment to my professional society in the UK that triggered a flag. They had been unable to reach me, due to problems with our land line, and asked me to call this number to verify the transaction.
- RichThis is a scam number. They actually had the name of my credit union i use, but I called my credit union directly and they said there was no issue with the account. When you call the number it is a very generic voice message putting you on hold. Just call your bank directly at their published number
- Fraud Squad| 1 replyPart of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions. Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.
The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people. There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-800-5234- Caller: Bogus Credit Union Phishing Fraud
- Jill| 3 repliesThis is a security company that monitor suspicious charges on your credit card. They work with 100s of banks. I called my credit union and they indeed flagged 2 fishy charges on my card. The card was cancelled and a fraud investigation was started on the charges. This is a legitimate company.
- ShillBuster replies to Jill| 1 replyLooks like the shill is back folks - don't be fooled - this is a phishing fraud being promoted here. The call is fake - a scam trying to get credit card information.
- CC MEMBER replies to cheezzz1031| 1 replyTHIS IS A LEGIT COMPANY
I GOT A CALL FROM THEM BUT I DID NOT CALL THEM BACK DIRECTLY
I CALLED MY BANKING ESTABLISHMENT IN THE MORNING AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS A COMPANY THAT MONITORS VISA ACTIVE --THEY SAVED MY CARD FROM FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY !!
APRIL 2012 - Mary1-888-918-7313 Just because they say that they are FALCON and just because your bank is affiliated with Falcon, does not mean the person calling you IS Falcon. Scammers know that your bank uses Falcon, so it is easy for them to say its legit. Do not give them any information unless you are 100% sure they are who they say they are. Anyone can say they are anyone.
- Caller: Falcon
- BrianThis was a legitimate call. I called the security number on the back of my card and found there was an attempt at an unauthorized charge. Heed the warning
- Brian replies to ShillBusterThis person does not know what they are talking about or is purposefully giving you bad information. Take the time to call the security number on the back of your credit card and investigate the call. Its the safe way to go and then you will know for sure. Call the security number on your card. DO it now, don't wait.
- Ted| 3 repliesReceived call both at home & work from this number reportedly doing a security check on my Credit Union Visa card. Being suspicious of such calls, instead of returning their call, first I checked the status of my account, which had an unusual charge (in Iowa?) made to the account. Upon my contacting the CU directly, I was told the call was legitimate. The representitive further looked at the account informing me of another attempted purchase which was blocked. It turns out someone, somehow hacked the account. The representitive helped me close the accound. It's good to know "someone" is out there watching for such fraudluent activity.

- It's A Fraud Folks replies to Ted| 2 repliesThis is a phishing scam, not the Credit Union calling. Don't be duped by the multiple shill postings here - they work for the fraud.
- NoemiEs legitima.
