- Ashley Johnson| 1 replyInvestigator Jones was very nice to me and explained everything to me in a simple form that I could understand. Wells Fargo was attempting to take me to court for a student loan that I defaulted on...I knew this was coming I was scared to see the day:( But she worked with me instead of moving forward with court proceeding. I am now back on track with my loans and so happy about it. looking to purchase a new home in a few months when this positively affects my credit.
- Caller: McGarland & Associates
- Selena Taraji| 6 repliesWish you guys would stop calling me for my sister I hate that she has screwed over everyone and is in and out of jail!!! I understand she should be procesuted for charges that she is responsible for but I can't help she has stolen my idfentity before [***] up my credit and i have no clue how to fine her thanks
- Gallus replies to Ashley JohnsonThe only thing you are on track for is failing miserably as a shill. Epic fail!
- Gallus replies to Selena TarajiWrong - debt is civil, not criminal. Defaulting on loans is not a criminal offence. If your sister has committed identity theft, then you should make a police report detailing this. Victims of ID theft are NOT responsible for the fraudulent debts racked up in their name!
- MJG replies to Selena Taraji| 3 replies2 - count 'em - 2 shills in one.
Makes you wonder what company they are shilling about. - Gallus replies to MJG| 2 repliesWell, obviously it's *not* a legitimate company. And they wonder how we regulars can spot them a mile away!
- MJG replies to GallusSooooooooooo obvious, Gallus! And they are too stupid * to realize that!!
*Substitute -- naïve, ignorant, dumb, self absorbed, or --------.
Investigator Jones - how original. His first name is probably John. LOL - Gunnar replies to GallusYep, "things that make you go Hmmm?"! I like the domestic frauds better though. They're a bit more of a challenge. Well, perhaps not. For some reason they seem to be avoiding me. For the life of me, I can't imagine why......
Godspeed,
Gunnar - notthatstupidReally? There are people who get this message and actually believe this is legit??? I've had probably 10 different toll-free phone numbers with basically the same message: I owe money and they are about to issue a warrant for me and will come to my job to arrest me. Today they at least called for "the defendant"
Funny thing is, I owe NOBODY any money AND I'm 3 years into a Ch. 13 bankruptcy. Furthermore, I worked in the justice field for years, worked for the police department, so I know that you can't arrest me for owing you money unless I wrote you a bouncing check or I committed some sort of fraud. Smh I also know that if you really knew where I worked, you would also where to send documents regarding this alleged court case. I am so annoyed with these people!- Caller: no name given
- Selena TarajiSorry if you guys misunderstood me but i wasnt saying charges against me they called trying to locate my sister and I no longer speak with her because of what she did to me. She stole from me!
- MortimerI love it when fakers get busted!
- MzFishSuch a pretty red :)

- Call type: Debt collector
- ShillKill replies to dcalhoun| 1 replyThese calls and shilling seem very similar to a current scam making the rounds. Maybe a new group, maybe not, but in any case For at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.
Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt. Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group. Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own. In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.
Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot) or Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily). They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”
Reynolds, Hill, and Associates
Berkley and Associates
Kaufmann and Associates
Sanderson Blaine & Associates
Blaine and Associates
McKenzie Reid Associates
Kennedy, Kline, & Associates
Nationwide Asset and Recovery
Piedmont Investigations and Procurement
Raffino, Garrison, & McCoy
Greenman, Schwartz & Associates
McCoy Law Group
Salem Associates
Reynolds and Associates
Here is a set of links to a variety of threads on this forum that document this group and its behavior. They include the experiences of victims as well as a former employee or two that quit within a week of finding out exactly what was going on. They also include responses from consumer advocates and people who are really criminal justice professionals advising victims of what to do

- woweven the name is fake on the stolen identity Selena is a singer and the name Taraji is the name of an actress of a very popular american tv show
- Bolinda replies to Selena Taraji1st of all, learn to spell, it's prosecuted not "procesuted" and don't type angry because everything you say comes out wrong and it makes you seem like an uneducated idiot. 2nd, if you are having trouble with constant calls, that is something you need to handle yourself by explaining the whole situation and getting off their calling list and if the calls continue then that's unlawful harassment and you can explain to them that if the calls don't stop you will have charges brought against them.
If you have an issue with someone or with a company, instead of going straight to your computer and whining about it to complete strangers, you should just take care of it yourself like the adult you claim to be. - Nicole W.They've called me twice, saying that I owe $1,000 or else they'll send out a warrant for my arrest. Well... I don't recall owing anyone that much money. Especially in North Carolina when I reside in Minnesota. I immediately knew they're scam artists and their so called scare tactics don't frighten me.

- kl replies to ShillKillThis number keeps calling my house, my parents, my sister and my ex husband. How do they get their info. When they call me I just hang up. How do I get them to stop. I do not want to speak with them so I do not give them any added info....it's becoming annoying
- Annoyed| 1 replyThey called my boyfriend today for a debt he paid years ago and threatening prosecution and saying the only way it could be settled was by paying by the end of the day by phone. When he asked for some type of legal verification by mail, they said they could provide it only if he paid. Ridiculous! No legitimate debt collector would state that the only way to pay is by giving up all your payment info over the phone right then and there OR ELSE. Since they had him call them back I'm going to go ahead and sign that number up for every telemarketing and junk selling site I can find so they can just annoy each other.
