- JameosLegit...got the same kind of message, called my bank, and they just wanted to verify a couple of online purchases I had in fact made in the last couple of days.
- anonFor my husband and I this was a legit call. Someone in another state tried to charge a hotel room with open account meaning they would be able to charge more than just the room they would be able to do food, alchoho,l movies, etc. My husband did not give out any info, they verified his birthdate and even named of current charges we made to see if those were legit. They cancelled the card and are issuing a new one.

- sepThis was legit. I got a message on my answering machine where the caller stated that she was calling on behalf of my Credit Union. I called the Credit Union and they verifed that the call came from them and connected me with the security department. They asked me for the case number that was given by the caller then asked me to verify some recent charges.
- Caller: Credit Union
- S. D. replies to ChiliNo, it's not. I'm a customer of SFCU and before returning back the call I called SFCU. They've confirmed that this is legit and redirected my call to that number and they've verified my credit card transactions with me.
- F BloggsThis is VISA Falcon service. If they see an unusual charge or activity on your CC that doesn't match your regular spending patterns, they will call you.
They *WILL* leave a message if you don't pick up, with a name and callback number.
If you're leery, call your CU and ask them for the VISA Falcon toll free number. It'll be this one!
Legit. Don't believe the scare mongers.- Caller: VISA Falcon
- theOtherRaythis is a legitimate number. They do good work. First call awhile back stopped someone from using my credit card number. On today's call, they were valid charges but I'm glad they're checking.

- PRIn my case this call was legit as well regarding my account with Comstar FCU. After I ignored the initial call I received a letter stating my account had been put on hold and sure enough my debit card was no longer active. I called and we ran through the last month of transactions, finding several I had not made in a state I have never been to, and cancelled the card.
- P.K.Yep, totally legit. AND they saved me from having to fork out over $700 in fraudulent charges and cash withdrawals. THANK GOODNESS for card security people.
- MGCame home and found a voicemail message from this number. Just like the posts above, they said it was Falcon Security in regards to the Mastercard I have through my credit union. After reading the other posts here, I didn't want to take any chances, so I called the number on the back of the card and explained that I had received this call. The customer service rep said there was a note on my account that they had tried to call me, and she transferred me "in house" to their number. The Falcon rep I talked to went over a number of recent transactions with me, all of which were legit, and thanked me for responding to their call. I told her that I had called in through the number on the card because I was concerned about whether the Falcon call was legit or not, and she said it was a great idea to do that. She also mentioned that they had had some reports that outsiders had used their number in what appeared to be phishing scams, so it is always a good idea to do what you can to protect yourself. In light of that, if you get a call from Falcon, my advice would be to use that customer services number on the back of your card, and let them transfer you to Falcon. That way you know for sure.
- Caller: Falcon Security
- PaulThis was a legit call about someone making purchases with my stolen credit card number. I verified by looking at my credit union's site (PenFed), they have this number listed on their contact page as Falcon Verification. They had left a verification code in a voicemail message - I called back the number listed on PenFed's site and used that code.
- Caller: Falcon Verification on behalf of PenFed CU
- RCLegit, but the hard-to-understand accent of the caller and the lack of an ID name on my caller ID made me call my bank to confirm it was real.
- ErinLegit. Received a call and being skeptical I called my bank. Sure enough there were unauthorized charges. Got my cards cancelled before any real damage could be done
- Caller: Falcon Securities

- Fraud SquadPart of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions. Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.
The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people. There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

- FlyerretiredThis is a LEGITIMATE number. I was skeptical. So I called my CACU. They verified that it is the phone number for fraud prevention for my VISA card. I called the number back and found out that someone had tried to use the CC to charge $2400 worth of travel and two other charges. The call back to the 888 number saved a lot of fraudulent charges. My CC has been cancelled.

- StacyReceived a call from them tonight. They are a fraud protection agency and found some fraudulent charges on my debit card. I called my credit union right away and found that this company was able to catch and block the charges and cancel my compromised debit card. Credit Union is sending a new card right away. I am very grateful for this protection!

- Sine SueI also received a call from 1-888-918-7313 regarding a Security Check on my BECU Visa card.I let my recorder pick up the call as I did not recognize the number. The woman was extremely hard to understand. I called BECU this morning. I had not used my Visa in ages and a purchase triggered the call. BECU had heard of Falcon Security but cautioned me that is still could have been a scam. So I did the right thing by verifying the security check with BECU.
