- ShillKillFor at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.
Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt. Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group. Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own. In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.
Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot) or Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily). They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”
Reynolds, Hill, and Associates
Berkley and Associates
Kaufmann and Associates
Sanderson Blaine & Associates
Blaine and Associates
McKenzie Reid Associates
Kennedy, Kline, & Associates
Nationwide Asset and Recovery
Piedmont Investigations and Procurement
Raffino, Garrison, & McCoy
Greenman, Schwartz & Associates

Salem Associates
Reynolds and Associates
Here is a set of links to a variety of threads on this forum that document this group and its behavior. They include the experiences of victims as well as a former employee or two that quit within a week of finding out exactly what was going on. They also include responses from consumer advocates and people who are really criminal justice professionals advising victims of what to do

https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-512-1712 - redmanThis scam has been going on for 4 years. Unfortunately they not only call me but my first wife that we divorced 30 years ago and my mother who is 81. Calling the FTC and homeland is a waste. I wish there was a way to get these thugs and put them behind bars. I stop answering the phone and know that those who may owe, that this is a civil matter. However, groups like these will try every means to threaten you, even call your employer. Is there any resource to stop this. There should be an organization that can find them and procecute. Protect citizens.

- amber jcalled looking for my husband saying an arrest warrant would be issued from Oakland County for bank fraud.funny thing is I know that warrants aren't issued from counties. They're issued from courts/cities. I called Oakland County to report this fraudulent company. Funny thing is they've called before stating he owed money from a payday loan. which we never obtained. SCAM!!!
- Caller: investigations
- shaneJust recived a call from this number stating that I have to appear in court in two weeks in west Virginia and if I do not then I will have a warrent for my arrest die to a payday loan back in 2011 that I never recived or had it is getting to the point they are calling my sister saying she will be arrested for not complying

- JayReceived a message from this number yesterday and called them back. Stated that I had an outstanding payday loan balance of $835 from JHS that dated from 2011. Funny, never heard of that company. They stated that they were the National Investigation Association, and another rep stated Nationwide Investigations, and if you call back after hours the voice mail says Raffino, Garrison, & McCoy. Had all of my info, when I pressed them for more info, like their address, they stated that they could not give it out for security purposes. Yeah, right, just so they won't get sued or arrested themselves. When I called back today, they simply answer "Investigations", stated that my file was closed and sent out for pre-litigation, wait a second, they told me that they were the pre-litigation department. All they want is your hard earned money, and once they figure out that you know they are a scam or if you ask too many questions, they move on and call you back in a month or so under some new company name with a new VOIP number. This company is illegal, they threaten arrest, can't happen, threaten to sue, won't happen. Do NOT give them any money.
