- DSI received a message today of someone looking for my mom. They referred to her as a Defendant and gave a case number and a contact phone number. When I looked up the contact phone number I was linked to https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-866-803-0755. That page carries a lot of similar stories and a notice that this is a Fake Debt Collector operating under the name of Mc Coy Law Group. That was not stated in my message, I believe it was cut off. There were however the threats of arrest if we did not comply immediately.
- Call type: Debt collector
- RB| 1 reply1-888-518-1712 is calling friends, family and everyone else making threats that they will have me arrested, I am wanted by the law and they can be arrested if they don't call back. Don't know who they are, not into anything illegal and don't owe them any money.
- Caller: Special Investigations
- Call type: Debt collector
- Amanda replies to RBI received the same call on two separate occasions. They read off some names that I supposedly listed for references, one of which I've never heard of? They claim I owe someone money, they're lying and just trying to get money. They said their name was so and so from the Fulton County D A'S office, I called them and asked if this person worked for them and explained what was going on and they said no one with that name has ever worked for them. They're just scum trying to scam people.
- RA| 1 replyI have received this call on three occasions now.
The caller asks, female, asks for my daughter, making threats of arrest and so on if they are not responded to.
The caller states that I was used for reference.

- Amanda replies to RAYup, it's what they do. They say I used this unknown person as a reference. They just make crap up and say they're going to arrest you blah blah. It scares people into giving them money. If they're saying they work for the DA's office, call your local DA's office, explain what's going on and ask if they work for them. If they don't start threatening them. These people are scum and what they're doing needs to stop.
- t rodgersthese people called my job and were harrassing me saying they were with investigations and they are reporting to a judge. i have dealt with these types of businesses before and they are very rude and threatning. i files a bankrutcy for all my stuff years ago and told them they could not touch me and they continued to threaten me, so i hung up on them. they are crazy.
- AnnoyedThis one is the worst because they will call your friends, family members, job, and even people who know people that know you (my brothers girlfriend who I never met got a call that I was going to be arrested) in order to embaress you enough so you will pay just to get them to stop calling.
Record the call, file a police report. They are based in Charlotte NC.
After searching for an address or even a state where they are located I came across job postings for this company and know they are in Charlotte NC http://berkeleyandassociates.youarehr.com/Jobs/About
The email address on the website is actually associated with this company: http://csacollect.com/
AND on that website the address listed is the SAME ONE that is listed on this debt collectors BBB page: http://www.bbb.org/charlotte/business-reviews ... lotte-nc-311963
After google mapping the address, it is a UPS store that they pick the mail up from.
If anyone can help out with figuring a real address with all that information I posted above that would be great!- Caller: Scam debt collector
- ShillKill| 3 repliesFor at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.
Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt. Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group. Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own. In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.
Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot) or Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily). They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”
Reynolds, Hill, and Associates
Berkley and Associates
Kaufmann and Associates
Sanderson Blaine & Associates
Blaine and Associates
McKenzie Reid Associates
Kennedy, Kline, & Associates
Nationwide Asset and Recovery
Piedmont Investigations and Procurement
Raffino, Garrison, & McCoy
Greenman, Schwartz & Associates
McCoy Law Group
Salem Associates
Reynolds and Associates
Here is a set of links to a variety of threads on this forum that document this group and its behavior. They include the experiences of victims as well as a former employee or two that quit within a week of finding out exactly what was going on. They also include responses from consumer advocates and people who are really criminal justice professionals advising victims of what to do

He works for a guy named Roy over there. I think I may be able to stir up some hornets to buzz around the NC end of this bunch! We'll see what happens.
Live Well.
Gunnar - ShillKill replies to Gunnar| 1 replyAnd should you ever need to find me, you can always stop by the other "place" and drop me a note. Regulars there know where I can be found just about all of the time.
- Gunnar replies to ShillKillI'll do that SK. I haven't been stopping by there often lately. That dirty four letter word (work) has been interfering with my time a lot this season. I'm kind of missing that slower economy.....
Gunnar - UpsydaisyI received a call from them yesterday. I really need to find out an address on them. They have my personal information. I was threatened to be arrested. The only thing they do not have is my correct address. She threatened to have my driver's license suspended and I was to be arrested today. She was screaming like I was afraid of her. I knew she could not do any of the threats by law. She got angry. I have no idea who these people are. I called back twice and they would not talk to me. They would not talk to me. They kept giving me a recording. They were at first calling from a 770 and 678 number in Atlanta GA.
