- Anon| 2 repliesCalled with an auto bot call and was looking for a specific person (used a different auto bot voice). The auto bot urged the receiver of the call to call with the location of the individual or forward their information to the individual. The message had a case number - seems like a phishing expedition
- JATI received the same message as Anon. Wonder what they are up to..
- buckeyefanamGot a phone call this morning with an automated message asking for me. I called the number back and spoke with a Jessica Sutton who said she was with Bailey & Roam (sp) Associates investigation department and they are going to file charges against me for fraud and malicious intent to defraud a financial institution for a payday loan I supposedly got in 2008! Said the loan was through a company called National Group LLC but I may know them as Bahama Marketing Group (I've never heard of either) and that I owed them $320 but with fees and penalties they were taking me to court for $4,746.67 unless I paid them the $320 plus a penalty fee of $300 today. I asked for a copy of the contract I supposedly had with their "client" and/or something in writing validating the debt and was told that at this stage in the game they can't do that. I told them to go ahead and take me to court and I'll let my attorney handle it. She put me on hold to have me speak to the "closure department" and no one ever got back on the line.

- MeowMix| 7 repliesThis company is called Bailey & Rowe Associates based out of South Carolina. I spoke with their Investigator yesterday who gave me bogus contact information. This was for some debt from 2008. I have no idea the company or what they are talking about. They told me they are going to file the same type of charges against me. I said go ahead, and I will have the sheriff waiting here for you. I went ahead and filed a complaint with my AG's office. Today, I get a call from another investigator. I told Investigator Roberts that I told the gentleman yesterday not to call me anymore. I also told her I was recording the call which seemed to frazzle her. I said you should have note of my phone call yesterday. While she was checking my account, she hung up on me. I called back a couple of times to get correct contact information, and I was hung up on. I finally got a guy who supposedly gave me the right contact information. I faxed a cease and desist letter to them. I will follow up with my complaint and make others. The guy on the phone yesterday admitted they were a collection agency. Yet, he wouldn't supply me with anything to verify the debt. They are a junk debt buyer threatening people with false accusations to pay.
- notbuyingiteitherCalled me yesterday and today, looking for a specific person. wont give business address to contact either. Mu wife called the number back last night, it went right to music, then a voicemail that said (very hurriedly) what we believe to be "Ron Little" but was not sure.
- MelissaGot same type of bot message from this number today asking specicially for my husband. Per the above comments, am not bothering to call them back. We don't owe any debt to collections (no past due accounts whatsoever) so clearly this is not legit.
- KatieI got a call from the number today and didn't answer. The message they left was they were looking for someone and left a case number. Bogus call.
- Call type: Debt collector
- TaliaGot a phone call from them too. They said I owed a debt to MyCashNow from 2008, that I breached a contract with them because of bank fraud and bad checking information (WTF?). My original debt skyrocketed to over $2000.00. The woman I spoke to, Sabrina Watts, asked me if I wanted to settle this in or out of court. When I advised her that I hadn't received anything on this, that all debts of mine have been paid in full, and that I would need proper documentation before going on the record regarding an alleged debt, she asked me the same question again. I gave her my address and told her to send the Sheriff. I called back three times to get the company name. I had to call from my work phone in order to not be noticed by the same person, and I spoke to a Gary. I gave him a bogus number and pretended that I just received a phone call from them. He confirmed the name was Bailey & Rowe Associates.
I have emailed the AG of South Carolina (Alan Wilson) and tweeted him, asking if this was the right path to start an investigation. This pisses me off, what if I was dumb enough to send them money over the phone? They wanted to settle with me right then and there! They really wanted money.
This is disgusting.- Caller: Bailey & Rowe Associates

- SueJust got a call from this company when a person actually got on the phone, they put me on hold and then acted like they could not hear me when they came back.
If they do call back I will give them the phone number to the Attorney General and let them deal with the call.
About three years ago I was stupid enpugh to pay one ofthese scammer companies and it will not happen again!- Call type: Debt collector
- ShillKillFor at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.
Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt. Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group. Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own. In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.
Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot) or Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily). They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”
Reynolds, Hill, and Associates
Berkley and Associates
Kaufmann and Associates
Sanderson Blaine & Associates

Here is a set of links to a variety of threads on this forum that document this group and its behavior. They include the experiences of victims as well as a former employee or two that quit within a week of finding out exactly what was going on. They also include responses from consumer advocates and people who are really criminal justice professionals advising victims of what to do

- bigtex| 1 replyJust got a blind robocall on my backup cellphone. I know it was a randomly dialed number because I never use this phone and have never given the number to anyone. The recorded female voice told me to call them back with info about a Dennis somebody. I couldn't make out the last name. I will file a complaint with the FTC and give the caller name as Bailey & Rowe, based on the previous posts. I will also block the 855 area code on my backup cell phone.

- Kim replies to MeowMix| 6 repliesCould you give me the contact info on this company? They've been harassing me as well and even called my HR Dept and another dept in my company. My debt is four years old and was discharged. She told me that the company was called AGI-BIG and said they have every right to try to sue me; however in regard to bank fraud, which it isn't they have to file with the district attorney to try to claim that. I'm so tired of the calls.

https://800notes.com/forum/ta-9413b3202bc8b6c ... net%27s-tactics - BryanMy wife, my mother in law, and I all got a phone call from this number asking to identify me. I looked up the number and there was nothing on whitepages.com identifying the owner of the number but a lot of complaints about them. It is a scam, they are a high pressure debt collecting scam and will threaten you with being arrested. I did fall victim to one of these before but closed the account before they took anything out. I also learned a few things. There is a statute of limitations on debt; it can be anywhere from 5-8 years and depends on what state the debt originated from. They very well be a debt collector but it's debts that are extremely old and nothing can be done about them so they use fear and lies to get you to pay then and there because they know that is all they can do. They will call anyone you are associated with and even your work. Don't give into the fear and tell anyone who calls you asking about it (friends and family) that it is a scam and not to worry about it.
