These people should be ashamed of themselves.
- JohnI returned a call from this number and the woman who answered was unwilling to disclose ANY information to me about what company it was. I asked if it was a private owned company or government, and she hung up on me.
- Jose| 3 repliesSCAM! Loud, obnoxious, aggressive. Said she worked in the check fraud division and to send $300 TODAY or I would have a bench warrant issued for my arrest then said she'd wait till tomorrow. Called the phone number back and was repeatedly hung up on when requesting information about the company. Had a lot of my personal info. Scary!!!! These are not OFFICIALS!
- Call type: Debt collector
- sisssy replies to Jose| 2 repliesI got the same massage they told my husband that I was in trouble for check fraud. And they will put a warrant for my arrest.
- CWG40 replies to DeeSharon Tate. One of Charles Manson's victims. Stabbed to death. Great . Whoever's using that name must be super-dumb.
- CWG40 replies to sisssyAs if any judge will issue a warrant to a debt collector. They just never stop yapping about how they're going to "arrest" you because they have a "warrant' and you'll be put in "jail". Total nonsense and you should tell them that if they call you again.
See: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection - Shelly| 1 replyMy family members are receiving calls and to pass a message onto me the "defendant". They are not calling me though. I called them back and they said they will be serving me papers. They been saying this for months now. I told them to serve me papers and they hung up.

- FrustratedThis is a SCAM and they collect on payday loans. Goldman Schwartz (who I am assuming is somehow linked to these people) was actually SHUT DOWN by the government so I don't know why they would be using the name Schwartz in their new fake company.
http://consumerist.com/2014/05/19/ftc-shuts-d ... rest-consumers/
"Under a settlement with the FTC, the operators of Goldman Schwartz, Inc., are permanently banned from debt collection and company owner Gerald Wright must surrender all assets, valued at $550,000, to pay restitution to consumers who were charged unauthorized late and attorney fees. The remainder of the $1.4 million judgement is suspended based on inability to pay"
Take 10 minutes and https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov file a complaint there. Make sure to mention they use "Schwartz" in the name and if enough people submit complaints they will take it seriously and shut them down.
If they use the word "DEFENDANT" they are breaking the law. Also file a harassment police report against them.- Caller: Scam

- ShillKillFor at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.
Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt. Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group. Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own. In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.
Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot) or Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily). They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”
Reynolds, Hill, and Associates
Berkley and Associates
Kaufmann and Associates
Sanderson Blaine & Associates
Blaine and Associates
McKenzie Reid Associates
Kennedy, Kline, & Associates
Nationwide Asset and Recovery
Piedmont Investigations and Procurement
Raffino, Garrison, & McCoy
Greenman, Schwartz & Associates
McCoy Law Group
Salem Associates
Reynolds and Associates
Ryan, Carter and Fields
Berman, Maxwell and associates
DOF Investigations
Vaughn & Associates
Bailey & Rowe
Here is a set of links to a variety of threads on this forum that document this group and its behavior. They include the experiences of victims as well as a former employee or two that quit within a week of finding out exactly what was going on. They also include responses from consumer advocates and people who are really criminal justice professionals advising victims of what to do

- Summer BummerI've been getting these calls for the last few months from (213) 271-1258, I'm assuming 213 bc that's local for me in Los Angeles. Typically when I pick up they hang up. I call back they answer "investigations" I figured to mask their idenity. Some ghetto low life proceeds to tell me that it's an old citibank debt (which was included in bk) but it was for a charged off checking account, they kept saying "line of credit" so I just let them talk until I tell them to guess again. I asked them to stop calling me and told them this was included in a bk, reading from a script they say "While the bk discharges the unsecured portion, it doesn't discharge malicious intent" lol I end the call with telling them to sue me. Literally 15 mintues later they call back. This time the caller actually gets through to me and when I ask the name of the company he says "Johnson and Moore" the caller previously said "Johnston and Associates". I guess it makes sense now when I asked the called where they are located he said Columbia, South Carolina" and I was trying to write I replied "North Carolina?" He said "What? No where did you get that from?" He got kind of defensive and frantic. These people are idiots and when the owner goes to federal for prison for extortion all these idiots are going right along with them. Not to mention North Carolina tends to sentence at the high end of the sentencing guidelines. Good luck to those associated with that company.
