- AOhThis was the number I was given to have my father call after they called my cell looking for him. The 'actual' number they called from has the area code of my cell and when I searched it is the number to a census bureau. I'm sure its scammers using an app to make it look like a local number calling you. She said she was an investigator and it was a legal matter so she couldn't give me details.
- SissyA call to my Ex-husband of 15 year and then to our son stating he was an investigator and for legal reasons
he could not give details... I called back they want money for a bogus claim, or threatened me with court in a state Ive never even been to. Any ideas who I could call to really report or at least honestly see whats up - HeatherBMy husband to a call from this company also saying he owed money. I work in collections myself and know that they have to provide written documentation of the debt within 30 days of contact. When she refused to provide that information, I told her we were gonna report her to the federal trade commission and to our local state attorney general. She said there would be a summons for him to appear in court today.

- ShillKillFor at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.
Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt. Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group. Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own. In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.
Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot) or Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily). They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”

https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-714-134-4576 - emanuel replies to MJGTh themselves ey are scammed because they go under different names and use investigators as their title they some how get hold of some information saying u owe somebody or defrauding a company namely paid loans I knew I owed money to this company but they were asking for like 1200 plus what I owed and says the state of Texas enforce that penalty. Di I got in touched with merchant I owed the money to in there collections they gave me my loan number which Richard Sims and Associates doesn't do plus they go under so many company named because I'm loading up to sue them for harassment and intimidation saying they're coming up to my job I now call them to get the different names the go under so that I could have a very strong case paying this company off very soon and I'm taking them to court for false information under computer protection they have to stop calling u sand if the calls continue be legal can take place get all the information basically let them hang
- Connie - Phoenix, AZReceived a call from Jason with Tax Defense Services. He asked to speak to "Connie", I said she was in the shower, may I tell her who's calling, he said "Jason, with Tax Defense Services". His accent was so thick I could barely understand him so I made him repeat himself like three times because I felt he was a fraud and I wanted to pick through some of the extra questions I was asking him. Like how he knew my colleague, phone number, etc... his answers were vague, then he asked to speak to a member of Connie's household, which I said he would have to wait for Connie she was almost done, then I said she would rather call him back to give me his number, name, and name of business, where is it located. Said Jason, 855-993-3515, Tax Defense Services, Phoenix. "Yeah, right?!?!!"
