Calling family members saying they are trying to get ahold of me for a lawsuit.  

ojust got a call from this numbet 888-316-3547. they are trying to tell me that i have a payday koan from 2011 with cash smart advance, i kno for sure that i dont, tried to tell them that, but didnt want go hear that. company names is bernan maxwell&ass the man that i was argueing with name was steve, he was rude, nasty, angry, and just not a people person. they are still callin me, and thats fine, i just will kerp ignoring them.

Just received a call at my job from this number stating that they wanted to speak with my supervisor regarding the protocol for serving legal papers. I acted as if I were the supervisor and they told me that it was a suit regarding a pay day loan that iI am sure I never had. I don't believe that it is legal for them to call your job nor tell your personal business even if it's false to anyone there over the phone.

Just received a call from this number in regards to "attempting to find the whereabouts of the defendant" and a file number.  No identifying information was left on message as to who this was with.  This is the 2nd call I have received from either this number or 877-239-8076.  Got the same recorded message from both numbers.
I plan to just ignor these messages unless someone has enough guts to actually identify themselves and give me a GOOD AND VALID reason to call them back!!

For at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.

Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt.  Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group.  Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own.  In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.  

Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot) or Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily).  They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”
