I owe no money!

Refused to send anything in writing..

Person calls by name of Mark Walsh saying he's with investigations regarding EZ Payday Loans.  Saying we owe money and if not called back by tomorrow afternoon will take legal action.  Moron even went as far as to say "caught on surveillance".  Wow!  scammers are becoming desperate.  How you morons put enough effort into filling out an employment application instead of trying to steal from us hardworking citizens!

FYI - The number they provided to be called back was (855) 584-6184.  When this number is googled many comments that they are being scammed.

For at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.

Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt.  Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group.  Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own.  In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.  

Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot) or Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily).  They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”

Keep getting a call saying that my phone number has been associated with an investigation and I need to call (855) 584-6184 to discuss further.

They keep calling and saying they are investigators. Had 2 calls from same number withing one minute. That person they keep calling for is in the hospital with cancer.

These people have called me twice today...the first time they called I answered the phone and they told me they were with a law firm called Bloomingdale Law Associates and the woman that I spoke with said that if I didn't pay money that I owed for a payday loan from Alpine Direct that they would file two charges against me...when I asked them to send me information in writing to my home address they got very defensive and said they didn't have to send me anything in writing and I told them that yes they did have to send a letter to me stating who I owe and how much because that's the law!  And she proceeded to say that she didn't have to do that and then I said well then I'm not paying you anything!  And then I hung up...they just tried to call again 10 mins ago!  [***]!

Woman states she is from Bloom and Smith Firm trying to collect on a payday loan. I asked several times for their location, she stated Columbia, South Carolina, I  repeatedly  asked while she attempted to speak over me if they were a legal firm and if she was an attorney or legal secretary.  She was argumentative and avoided a direct answer  to any question and spoke while I kept asking and finally hung up on me.

Wouldn't give me any info except Looking for my minor son. The agency was actually looking for my ex husband and we haven't been together in 15 years. Call everyday from this number and say they are Bridgewater Group. Last week they were and investigation group. The week before they were a law firm from New York. All BS. It's collection for payday loan and are rude. Ms white is who answered when I call back.
