This caller claimed to be a law firm for a payday advance company.  SCAM.  I haven't ever applied for nor received a payday loan.

They called me saying it's from an investigator, and that I am being sued from a hospital.

How to avoid these calls? Install blacklist plus (free) on your phone and in settings select the hang up option. No more rude ass voicemails left no more calls. You can add from call log so no need to save these pricks in your phone in order to block them. Screw these jerks

They called at 6:50 in the morning saying they were an investigator. Asking if I was -----  I said I don't saner questions from numbers I don't know and she said something like " i do t have to listen to rude comments from you ma'am" and continued to ask if i was ------  I hung up

This number called me today and since I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know I let it go to voice mail.  When I listened to it they had left a message saying they were an investigator trying to reach me (had my name) and asked me to call back or forward this information to the person they are attempting to locate and to reference a case number 2014-XXXXX.  My son freaked out thinking I was in big trouble! Nope, just some company with nothing better to do than spam peoples phones.

got a call from this number today and they asked about the whereabouts of and gave my name   It gave you an option to press 1 to talk to an investigator or press 2 if you do not know this person. they left a phone number which was totally different from the 2 numbers they called from and left a case number which is 2014-771698

ive been called constantly by these people and everytime they say they will remove my number they never do and when I asked for an address to send a cease and desist letter they will not give you the address if I could get it I would sue them

They called for my ex husband. When I asked then to remove the number because he is my ex husband and they are calling my mothers house the woman told me no she would not and she will keep calling until she reached him. I don't even care why they are calling they need to stop.

For nearly two years, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.

Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt.  Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group.  Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own.  In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.  

Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot),  Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address) or Phoenix AZ.  They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily).  They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”.  They often call people with a recording claiming they are looking for a "defendant"

They called my office, and my home phone claiming that I was going to be arrested. You cannot arrest someone for a payday loan in my state. I have heard that if you miss a hearing in some states you can be arrested. I haven't been notified of a hearing, and even if I was--I am in bankruptcy.

According to CHAPTER 2-A.  LOUISIANA DEFERRED PRESENTMENT AND SMALL LOAN ACT RS 9:3578.6 States that: A licensee cannot threaten any customer with prosecution or refer for prosecution any check accepted as payment of a deferred presentment transaction and returned by the lender's depository institution for reason of insufficient funds.
