- Lisamb4269| 1 replyThis is portfolio recovery and associates. I will be placing complaints with the FTC, in reference to these creeps. They called my husband's cell phone. I called back to see who they are looking for and even asked in a nice tone of voice, who they are looking for? they said i was being very snippy with them? whatever? This company can go to the firey pits of hell!!

They were listed among the worst offenders on the late Bud Hibb's site!
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

File a complaint at the NY State AG's Office here: http://www.ag.ny.gov/ - Lisamb4269These people called my husband's cell phone asking for someone else. I called back to see why they were looking for another person on this phone and asked a legit question the rep got a tone of voice towards me and told me to calm down. I had four witnesses in the room, when i called to ask them a simple question? Why are you calling this number asking for someone that isn't here. They are rude, and do not collect properly.

- Lisamb4269This is debt recovery solutions they are debt collection services. They have been rudely caling my husband's cell phone number looking for someone that we do not know. I attempted to call them back, and they got really rude and nasty with me on the phone. So I will be putting in another complaint with the BBB. When you call the number back, they tell you to go their website, and fill out a form to remove your number from their LIST. That tells me they have illegal and improper collections going on. Which will be fixed.

- Joe MPanasonic makes home phones now with up to 250 numbers to call block. Iphones you just block them and they can never reach you again. Home phones by Panasonic now give you the choice for the blocked numbers to ring once and then get cut off or to not ring at all. You never have to hear the phone ring or you can let it ring once to just laugh at these jerks. This is the only way to stop these idiots from calling you. I wrote a letter to the New York State Attorney General telling them that I requested for these people to stop calling my home no matter what the issue is. They just keep calling. It has been a few years ow and they will just keep harassing you. They have no rules to go by or they stop for a while and then start back in again. Get the home phones with call block and the only time you will know they call is when you look on your caller id and scroll down.

- OriginalAnonymous1| 2 repliesI have an Android phone but I found a Call Blocker that can be set to allow only phone book calls, it also stops any unwanted text messages and it free and it works. If you go to the "Play Store" and search Call Blocker and chose "Calls Blacklist-Call Blocker. I hope this helps anyone else who has an Android phone.
- Caller: Unknown just some scumbag phone scammer
- BigA replies to OriginalAnonymous1| 1 replyConsidering how many numbers these cretins have to call out on, a better solution would be to follow what I posted above and send them a certified, return receipt letter. You would be surprised an the wonders a letter like that does.
- Ed GeinIf they were for real they would send you mail. A certified letter if they want it to stand up in court. I had a credit card go bad 25 years ago and I owed $1500, the bank wrote it off but sold the paperwork so some collections company for less than a dollar, now they call me and want ot negotiate the $1500 I owe "them". Told them to send me paperwork or [***] but that continued calling me is a waste of time... So far so good, nobodys mailed me anything...
