- JenniferCaller stated something about looking for someone named "Kristin Folger" regarding a court case File # 2014-64423.
No one here by that name.
I called back from my blocked number stating, "Next time you call, identify yourself if you want a response." But of course I will not respond. Scam creeps. Don't know the name of the company. - Gramreceived a call from 888.408.9651 Investigator Connie Fisher looking for ****** possible warrant (REALLY).
Its for sure a scam to scare people out of paying a debt they may or maynot have. If you do have an outstanding debt then deal with the original creditor. Not these IDIOTS! Keep all your recordings and emails that these scums send you becuase you could turn the tables on them. This is total harrasment.- Caller: Holland Dixie & Assoc.
- Shazza replies to dscspursI have been called from a 360-401-3186 several times over the past weeks. No one left a message. Today, the number finally did....The person said they were "Investigator Bowden" or something like that and was calling about a non-warrant investigation of which I am "a person of interest" and she needed to get a statement from me or my attorney. They said it had "come time and my response is needed immediately". I checked both numbers and the only thing I can find out is that the 360-401-3186 originates in Bellevue, WA through US Cellular. No name, no business name. The 888 number comes back as not found. I googled the 888 number on a whim. Now I am glad I did.
- Shazza| 1 replyGot a call today from 888-408-9651, ex 00X1 (couldn't hear the number, voice muffled). I had been getting calls from an unknown 360-401-3186 number coming across my caller ID as Shelton, WA. Today, I got another call from 360-401-3186 and they left a voice mail saying I needed to call back immediately and give a "statement", I was a person "of interest" in a non-warrant investigation. No company name, no ID no nothing except I was to reference my "claim #2014-44337". I called back because I was perplexed; the 888 number is answered by an automated voice saying if I knew the extension of the party I wished to reach enter it or hold for the next available representative. I hung up after about 4 minutes. I read through the other comments on here. I filed a complaint through the FCC about 30 minutes ago. I suggest EVERYONE do the same. The number they called from originated from a cellular phone in Bellevue, WA, not the city that showed on my caller ID. The 888 number shows up as unable to locate. I will not be calling them back but if they call again I WILL answer and see what , if any information I can obtain and post it here and refer to the FCC.

- CCin 2009 I had identity thief I have been getting calls stating I owe on a pay day loan that I never took out. Well I paid to HA Processing 375.00 and 1000.00 to S&S Security Credit Solutions LLC because they stated police officer to your work to arrest you. Since January I have had 6 other company's or people call saying I owe between 200.00 to 500.00. I never took out a loan and now this firm Holland and Hart is saying I owe more money. When I informed them I had my identity stolen in 2009 they stated that is to bad for you. We are sending a police officer to your work to arrest you. They would not give me their address or anything just kept hang-up on me.
I have put in consumer complaint form to the Attorney General Office of AZ and the FBI http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx- Caller: Holland and Hart

- ShillKillFor at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.
Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt. Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group. Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own. In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.
Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot) or Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily). They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”. They often call people with a recording claiming they are looking for a "defendant"

Here is a set of links to a variety of threads on this forum that document this group and its behavior. They include the experiences of victims as well as a former employee or two that quit within a week of finding out exactly what was going on. They also include responses from consumer advocates and people who are really criminal justice professionals advising victims of what to do

- Bernard SteelPiece of crap debt collector using illegal scare tactics to try and scare you into paying a debt that they cannot prove that you owe or may not even owe. Don’t verify any information or promise to make any payments. Good chance statute of limitation has already passed. Pay them no attention.
Warning signs for companies like these
Requires immediate payment
Is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
Refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
Asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
Exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
Claim to be mailing you items (but you never got anything)
Says” it’s too late to mail anything out now”

- Tim CampbellI received a voice mail at my office today from a lady, Ms. Rogers, with a case Number 108-04 and to call 888-408-9651, extension 0084 immediately. Thank you all for your postings.
- Concerned CitizenSince this group is actually operating out of the Charlotte area, the proper local jurisdiction to file police reports would be the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department

You can make a report by telephone - If calling outside the Mecklenburg County, the Non-Emergency Crime Reporting: 704-336-7600

http://charmeck.org/city/charlotte/CMPD/Pages/ReportACrime.aspx - jr| 2 repliesMy brother-in-law called me to advise a woman named Lynn Norman called looking for me and was an investigator but did not say who she was representing. Told him there were pending fraud charges against me but wouldn't tell him what they were. Told him I had no idea who she was and apologized that she even called him. I also got two messages on my celphone-one from an Amanda Rogers who claimed there was fraudulent charges against my SSN and was told to callback at (888) 408-9651 ext.0066 and the second was saying to have the defendant call the same number. I suspect this is a scam especially when no company name is given. I have no intention of calling and have complained to the FTC. I also spoke to my attorney who advised me not to give out any info and to ASK FOR EVERYTHING IN WRITING which is required by law.

- Resident47 replies to jrYou can do more than suspect. Last I checked, a numeric sequence cannot be criminally charged with "fraud", and neither can a human when it's all shorthand for a defaulted payday loan or any other consumer debt. There is no mysterious "investigator", no "hot check" case, and no "defendant". The lies were illegal and so was blabbing about your alleged debt problems to your BiL.
FTC alert: "Fake Debt Collectors"
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0258-fake-debt-collectors - ScammedCompany called my ex wife of 25 years to ask if she knew where I was. She has not used my last name for 25 years so I knew they were just"phishing. Problem was she gave the message to my brother and so he was worried. These scammers don' care who they hurt or involve.
- Call type: Debt collector
- CWG40 replies to VCTypical threat of a debt scammer--telling you you are going to be "arrested" for bank fraud. Exactly how would a debt collector know that? Public prosecutors don't inform debt collectors of pending cases. Absolute scam. Ignore.
- CWG40 replies to garyThere is no law case, there is no prosecution; they are just trying to scare you. Ignore 'em and block their coals.
- CWG40 replies to jrAgree with Resident 47. First off, criminal charges are filed by the local public prosecutor, not a debt collector. Secondly, no public prosecutor informs any debt collector about pending charges. Debt collectors have no influence or connection to public prosecutors. Period.
Social Security numbers cannot commit fraud. They cannot commit any time of crime for that matter, and they cannot be accused of a crime. So if someone calls you and makes a nonsensical statement that "fraudulent charges have been made against your SSN, you know it's complete foolishness. Utter nonsense. - JohnnyBGot the same message.
