person keeps calling all day long. I want it to stop

I received a call from (512) 362-5842.  When asked what it was regarding, the women on the phone would not give me any information about the call until I would confirm my SSN #.  I refused to confirm that it was or was not my SSN without understanding the purpose of the call.  She got upset and told me to have a nice day and hung up.  Does she think I am crazy?  Dang, I am a privacy officer and deal with this kind of crap every day.

They are searching for my ex husband.  I told them yesterday I have no contact with him and they assured me they would take my number off their list.  They called back today then hung up on me when I told them not to call again.  I called back asking who they were and they refused to tell me then hung up again this went on for several calls and each time they refused to give me any information.  This is harassment and I want to know if anyone is sueing them because if they are I am in I do not need or want these calls coming to me.

Number search finds this website, https://www.loanstartitleloans.net/ 

This guy is a scammer.  Called wanting personal information.  Wouldn't say who he was.  Said "there are charges about to be filed".  Then wanted verification of information.

I kept receiving calls from this number.  When I called back, They answered as "Investigations, what's your case number?".  They asked for my name, and then proceeded to ask me to confirm my social security number.  When I refused, they got upset at me, and rudely said that they can't help me if I don't give them my information.  I was starting to tell them that they were the ones that called me first and the lady got agitated and just said "Have an awesome day" and hung up on me.  What a mess!

I've gotten numerous calls from this number. Every time it's an automated machine taking saying My number has been associated with the case they're following in their office.

For nearly two years, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.

Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt.  Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group.  Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own.  In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.  

Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot),  Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address) or Phoenix AZ.  They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily).  They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”.  They often call people with a recording claiming they are looking for a "defendant"

Holy crap my friend, you did your homework! I always tell my friends who get all nervous when they say charges will be filed and they will get arrested, blah, blah, blah...I think it a bit humorous but pretty [***] on the part of these bottom feeders. I explain as you did...how many people do you know IN jail for not paying their bills? Debt is a civil issue NOT a criminal issue. Use common sense folks and DONT ever, for any reason give or confirm your OWN SS# or any vital personal info. Or the next time they call, give them a phony SS number and put them on a wild goose chase. When they call me, I say this is so and so and no longer his number, stop calling. How can they prove its not one way or another. I get a call at least once a week and when I'm not in the office, I answer and immediately start speaking spanish, these days anyway...totally throws a wrench into their game. hahaha!

You people need to read up on your rights. All you have to do is say 'Do not call me again , if you do it will be recorded by my phone company therefore it will hold up in court and YOUR COMPANY will be in violation of a federal law protected by the FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PROTECTION ACT'
Cases like this have been won garnering the people called - yes ! the people called $10k or more in damages.

I just recieved a call form them saying that they are a law firm and I owe a certain company money.They said that charges will be filed against in my county if I don't agree to settle this debt. I just hung up the phone
