Identified themselves as Lyman and Turner Agency. I called back and immediately it said transferring to investigations. Investigator Jackson answered and she gave me a fake address in Columbia, SC.

It's rumored this place is actually operating out of Charlotte, NC. My best advice is if you receive a phone call from them, report it to the FTC and contact your police department. I would say that what they are doing is close enough to impersonating a police officer. Since the phone calls are going across state lines, your local police department should be able to refer it to your local FBI office.

Don't be afraid or ashamed to report these people. That's what I am doing. I let the representative I spoke with that I will be reporting them to both the FTC and to my local law enforcement.

For at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.

Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt.  Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group.  Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own.  In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.  

Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot),  Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address) or Phoenix AZ.  They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily).  They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”.  They often call people with a recording claiming they are looking for a "defendant"

This company keeps calling asking for my son. I have told them several times that it is not his phone number and that i have no contact with him. I have asked them several times to stop calling me but they just respond with "do you know Anthony?" If I do not pick up I receive a robotic message from them. They REFUSE TO STOP CALLING ME.

The next time they call ask them to give you a physical address, not a PO Box and inform them that you will be contacting your attorney to file charges against them.  Be firm and press them for a real address not some fake address they may give you.

Keep getting calls from 608-299-7037 every so many months, they are a scam! I have them on the reject list and each time they call from this number they say they are a different company. I called back and first got a Marie Anderson who said she was from Bridgewater Group told her to send it to me in writing, said she was transferring me to the closure department and then they hung up on me. Called back again to ask for a physical address or fax number to send a cease a desist letter, a Derrick Butler (yeah right) answered and and said he was from Scott & Dale Group, I asked him which one was it Scott & Dale or Bridgewater Group. He stated they are paperless company and dont have a fax or address LMAO!!! What a bunch of idiots, when I told him I know my rights and I was reporting them to the FBI & FTC he hung up imagine that!!!!

Just read all of your concerns as a victim myself. 3 years ago I had the same situation with some debt collector that harassed me every week looking for someone else. I finally found Bruce here on the web who does excellent work on putting an end to this nonsense! Bottom line was he won the case and issued me a $500 settlement no strings attached.
