Yeah. They're calling me every day while I'm a work.

Who are these people? They are calling me everyday and i don't answer the phone if i don't recongize the phone number.

Not sure who or why they called. Would not give any info to me actually refused.

I let the machine pick up as it was an odd number to me. Let no message.

It is a collection company. dug around and belongs to portfolio recovery.

CID showed Not Available. I NEVER answer calls with that ID or numbers I don't recognize. No message was left.

They called me a few minutes ago. I never answer unknown calls and they never leave a message, Most of them are just spam.

Yeah, it's the bottom feeding scumbags Portfolio Recovery. Blocked. I love my call blocker. I've blocked a few of their numbers already. It's said that they have 200 or more numbers. Bring it on you arm pits. I have much more than enough slots for all of your numbers. I'll block every single one of them.

Got the call. Didn't answer. No Message. Apparently this number has been dormant for 3 1/2 years and they just started using it again today. Maybe it's a political call.

Called at 3:45 P.M. Tuesday. No name on ID, just the number. No message.

Judging from the comments, it looks like Portfolio Recovery has been busy with this number today. I got another call from them at 4:37pm today. Didn't talk to them (why bother? They'll just keep calling). Every time I have spoken to them (I mean civilly, as opposed to the times I screamed obscenities into the phone) they've asked for someone I've never heard of. The names change but the harassment never stops.

I just tell them I have Tourette's Syndrome and if they really want to go through the abusive language I would be all to happy to oblige them. . . . . . sorry Effin Mo Fos!!  I love to discus their lack of parentage with them!

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

This time CID showed Atlanta GA. Again, no message was left. These people are idiots.

They are calling me about a debt that was paid in full to the original creditor, told them but they keep calling.

I do not answer unknown numbers.  Someone called today at 3:32 PM and when my answering machine picked it up they hug up.  The caller ID said Atlanta, GA up upon further investigation I found it’s just another number that  belongs to Portfolio Recovery.  Portfolio Recovery has also called us from the following phone numbers:

I looked up this Portfolio Recovery on the web and found it belongs to a debt collector - http://www.portfoliorecovery.com.  The website claims “Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC are here to help you pay your debt.  Call 800.772.1413 to speak with an Account Representative…”

Since I don’t have any current or past-due debts my guess is they are trying to SCAM money out of me.  My phone number is registered on the national Do Not Call List but since this is a debt collection company they are allowed to call you and reporting them has no result …”

The big PA trying to collect on a time barred debt....  another number I need to block with google voice...

They being portfoilo recovery calls 50-60 times a week for no reason!  Sent them a certifed letter to stop but these bottom feeders DON'T follow the law .  God help you if you just got a new number and the previous owner had been on their list..  All companies sell your new umber to them weekly in a list so its hit or miss to get a number they don't have ..LAWYER time ,then run around trying to collect from them!
