Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Portfolio Recovery might leave you alone for awhile, but they will come at you again full force calling from an array of different phone numbers to get you to answer. They talk to you like s h i t & it is usually about money that is written off years ago or money you never owed at all. Do not answer numbers you don't know.

Hey everyone.Portfolio recovery.there's a list on Google of all there numbers they try to call you by.Put them all in your reject list.I did.barely get a call anymore....

I went to court over a debt they claimed I owed. I proved my payment and their attorney dropped the case. A couple of months later they started calling again, trying to get me to assume a debt I already paid & setried in court. I get calls from a bunch of numbers from different states, too. If I know it's them, I'll pick up, but not answer. They eventually hang up.

PEOPLE if you receive an unknown call do not pick it up. If no message is left it is spam. These spam companies exist because people actually pick up. Now the intelligent people have to suffer because you keep picking up.

We've gone through all known postings and duped out  all of the duplicates phones and this is the current master list of all known phone numbers they use as of today. All 153 of them.
